Ortho Care Physical Therapy provides services aimed at preventing the onset and/or slowing the progression of conditions resulting from injury, disease and other causes. We provide these services to people of all ages who have functional conditions resulting from back and neck injuries, sprains/strains and fractures, arthritis, amputations, stroke, multiple sclerosis, injuries related to work and sports, and others.

Ultrasound
Hot packs, whirlpool, cold packs, ultrasound and low level laser are heating and cooling and non-heating (photo therapy) agents that are used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and speed healing. Modalities such as these are used in physical therapy and are adjunct to rehabilitation programs.

Alaina has been a Physical Therapy Assistant since graduating from Baker College 2011. Alaina has also successfully obtained licensure through the State of Michigan and has completed all required educational requirements (CEU). She has an extensive background with aquatic therapy, as well as, treating spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders, TBI's and chronic pain. Since joining Ortho Care Physical Therapy, Alaina has further developed her out-patient and orthopedic treatment skills. In addition, she has become proficient in Biodex testing protocols and treatment.
Manual Therapy
If you are in pain at your first visit, you should expect the physical therapist’s goal is to provide a treatment that gives you immediate short-term pain relief. To achieve this, your therapist may provide electrical stimulation, ultrasound, manual therapy such as soft tissue mobilization, and cold packs. The therapist may also provide you with instructions in proper positioning to control your pain symptoms.
