Do not, I mean do not take your car here!!!! My car was there for a month and they kept telling me that they were going to fix it and they never did! They told me that they had been calling me and could not get through. So when I called them I had them try the number to make sure it worked and it did. They then told me that they were going to order a part and call me when it was done. So again I waited another 4 days, no call so I called them and the owner and no one else even remembered talking to me!!! The guy didn't even know what my car was in the shop for and 3 different people told me 3 different things were wrong with it!. Very very unprofessional people and my UBER ride to drop off and pick up my car was almost $50. Take your car to Shifting Gears which is right next door. I have gone there for years but thought I would give this new guy a chance..very very bad idea !

This place used to be called Affordable Auto and now it is Keys Custom. The old owner left FL after Irma apparently and some guy named Justin now owns the place and touts his many years of work as a mechanic and how awesome his place is. A few months ago, the regulator on our van went out and since I had used this place before for repairs I told my wife to take it there first, because we needed it done in a hurry for a trip. Well Justin taped up the window and told me to call him for the parts. I called to get an estimate and he told me it would be about $100 for the regulator and we also needed a new motor. He quoted me $600 for a new motor. I was like what?!! I have bought parts and done repairs myself and even though this is a VW, I knew there was no way that it was a $600 part. So, I did my own research, checked online at some of the places where I have bought OEM parts before and turns out that I could get it for around $60, and that was even from a VW dealership. I called him back and confronted him with the price and he got all defensive and tried to lie his way out of it. First, he told me, that's what it cost, so he can order the parts and do the job for $150. Or he said, I could get the parts myself and then he would still install them, but for $200 OR, I could do it myself or find someone else. He claimed that he gets his parts from CarQuest, here on Stock Island, and that's what they charge and it's so he can return the part if it is wrong and that I can call them myself... I told him I would. CarQuest told me there is no way they would charge that much and that at MOST, a repair place could charge MAYBE $300 or so... AVOID THIS PLACE, it is no longer Joe and his son, who were honest and like his sign said out front, NO BULLSH*T. But this place is nothing but BULLSH*T now, so DO NOT USE THEM, they will try to steal from you.... On a side note, I had posted a review about this place a while ago, but am not sure what happened to it. Stay away from this place, like another reviewer said, seems like this guy is too concerned with being on TV and less with his customers. Fortunately, this all happened to us before he tried to get famous, not that that helped at all....

Absolutely horrible experience with Justin and Keys Customs. A problem had come up with one of my fleet trucks. The problem was that coolant was getting into the oil system and oil in the coolant system. Now I'm no mechanic, but with what was happening I was thinking head gaskets, or maybe the radiator since it cools the oil as well. Three times this truck was brought to Justin with this problem and each time he would flush the radiator and give the truck back to us. Due to this incompetence on his part to diagnose the correct problem, I'm now out a little over $6000 to replace the now blown motor. Now due to his TV show endeavor, which is obviously Justins main concern (not his customers vehicles), my truck has been pawned off to the mechanic next door and while waiting for him to get the motor replaced he out right lied about the status of the truck, and had even told us the motor was in the truck and he had to hook up hoses, etc. I went to check on the truck and looked under the hood myself to see that the old motor was still in the truck, so again, he straight out lied to us. Don't be fooled by any of Justins shady business practices, or promises of fishing trips on his charter boat. If you value your vehicle, be very aware, and go elsewhere.
