Wubit Raru, FNP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in The Division of Kidney Disease & Hypertension at The GW Medical Faculty Associates. Wubit earned her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Bowie State University and graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was GW Women's Board Scholarly and an Outstanding Academic Development Award recipient of Graduate Nursing Class of 2020. Wubit completed her associate and Bachelor's in Nursing from University of District of Columbia in 2014 and 2017 respectively. Her academic projects focused on patients with hypertension and chronic kidney disease. She is committed to using her clinical experiences and evidence-based practice to optimize the care coordination process for Kidney disease and hypertension patients from diagnosis, treatment, and beyond. Her goal is to enhance her advanced clinical practice and provide care to underserved communities to improve patients experience through education, better access, quality and coordinated care. Wubit has worked with diverse patient populations in various clinical settings. She completed a clinical rotation at Desai Medical Center providing evidence-based and holistic care to patients across life span. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Wubit worked as a Registered Nurse at George Washington University Hospital floating to all areas of hospital settings including Emergency Department, Cardiac/Telemetry, Neurology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, and Rehabilitation units. She was also a hemodialysis nurse at DaVita Dialysis Center. In addition to her nursing skills, she has developed leadership skills as well and has eight years of professional experience in an administrative capacity working as staffing coordinator and community outreach manager for home care agencies based in the DMV area. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association, National Kidney Foundation, and Alpha Chi honor society.
