Best vet in Macomb County! I take my cats here and Dr Eugene and the staff are always so great. My boyfriend's dog was having some trouble and after going to three different vets and animal hospitals, I truly believe Dr Eugene and his staff were the ones that saved her. They were very understanding of our financial situation and were willing to work with us. The vet techs were soooo sweet to her and treated her like their own. I would recommend this vet to anyone in Metro Detroit. a++++!!!!

Not thrilled...

My mother decided to bring our dog to this vet because it was close to our house. One day he stopped eating, started throwing up, etc. We took him in and Hoover RD vet diagnosed our dog with poisoning of some kind. Gave him pills and sent him home. The next day he had gotten worse and started having seizures. I rushed him back and waited for a good 25 (which i understand, we didn't have an appointment) minuets or so for the vet to come in. Prior to that the assistants had rushed in and taken my dog's blood. I let him know that he had gotten worse. The vet didn't even seem to acknowledge my poor dog as he tried to hold himself up when he came into the room. He checked everything over again and that's when my dog started to seize (for the 3rd time). The vet told me to not cry, that there was 'nothing' to cry about. He then spent another good 20-30 minuets explaining WHAT the problem might be. Then he trailed off about cutting our dog open versus some kind of dye method. I was welling up in tears at this point not knowing the reason to why my dog was in so much pain. I asked repeatedly if we should take him to emergency care and the only answer i got was " i will explain that to you in a moment." . after another nerve-racking 15 minuets of possibilities he was throwing around it was then brought up that our dog needed to see an emergency vet immediately (yea thanks for the 45 minuet lecture). I asked for the blood results which they had taken from our dog when we first came in. Apparently they don't have a test lab in the actual building and the result wouldn't be in for another TWO days! I do not understand why blood was drawn if the state of my dog was apparent. I do not understand why i was told not to cry , as if my dog was just an object and not a part of my family! And it makes no sense to me why the vet spent almost an HOUR throwing ideas up in the air when someone with the proper equipment could've already figured out the problem and informed me after my dog was out of danger. It was obvious to me that there was no compassion for my dog at the Hoover Road Animal Hospital.

Dr. Eugene A. was excellent and the staff was friendly. Dr. Eugene A. was very thorough with the examination and gave us time to think about the surgery for our puppy. He allowed us to check with our regualr vet clinic for price comparison. Overall, we would definitely take any of our animals back to him. Thank you Dr. Eugene A. for taking care of our Miley, you're the best.

I took my dog in for yearly vaccines and a bath. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and my dog got all of her vaccines and smelled great when I picked her up. I love how convenient it was to drop her off, run my errands (have lunch at 5 guys burgers and fries. YAY) and then pick her up. I'm definitely a client of theirs now.

bad vet

We took our sick cat to this place and had x rays and blood work done after $300+ they said he was a little dehydrated gave hin a shot and said nothing was wrong with him 2 days later he got worse and now he is dead. We will no longer be taking our dogs to them any more. Only got the 1 star because yp says i have to give them one to post this so that star is a lie.

I Love Hoover Road. I took both, my dog and cat, to hoover road after staying at a previous vet for a year. That vets health test was: looking in eyes, palpating stomach and asking about bowel movement. After i left there my dog needed his routine checkup and a few vaccines. IN the previous vet i had A LOT of problems with getting my dog vaccinated because he HATED them and he is a GSD so they basically drugged him up and THEN vaccinated him. My first time at Hoover Road was Amazing. If i remembered the doctors name i would mention him but i forgot. He had Such a wonderful approach to my dog and gave him 4 vaccines just like that. Their check ups are literally from ears to tail, and if they miss something they strongly apologize! I cant say more about this vet than Great prices and awesome people!!!!

I absolutely love Hoover Road ...

I absolutely love Hoover Road Animal Hospital. As a breeder and trainer I am often asked by my clients for recommendations for animal services and I never hesitate to refer people to Hoover. I have received excellent and prompt care for every one of my dogs that I have ever brought through their doors, whether it was for routine care or an emergency. I have personally seen Dr. Darji, Dr. Sekhon, Dr. Pelia and Dr. Raj with one (or multiple) of dogs and have been 100% happy with each and every visit. When I took my most valuable show dog in right before a competition, not only did Dr. Pelia squeeze him in (we didn't have an appointment), but he handled the treatment of his (superficial) leg wound personally and with great care. He did such a fantastic job that my dog was not only comfortable for our road trip but he was sound and ready to go on show day. He even won his class every time in the ring. Hoover Road is an excellent place, with a caring and compassionate staff dedicated to doing what is best for your pet and striving for excellence.

Everything about this place is great, my family and I have been taking our animals here for a while, and we've never had a problem. After what they did for my ferret, I can't imagine taking my pets to another facility. They treat every animal (and human!) with equal respect and care. My pets actually enjoy coming here and seeing the staff.

This place is great, I highly recommend it, I now live over and hour away from this location, but I still take them here, it's worth the drive.

i recently drove to this clinic from my home in ohio to get my pit bull puppy a life saving surgery. The vets in my area wanted $2,500 to remove a blockage in my dogs stomach. They also could not do the surgery for 3 days. I couldnt wait that long so i drove to michigan and to hoover road. they got my dog in that morning and did the surgery for under $1000 even with the gas for my drive it was less then half the price, faster and they place and the employees were very nice. they were not afraid of my dog either. the places down here sure are. this place is great.

My wife took one of our breeding dogs to this clinic for grooming while I was out of town, for a quick trim of her belly area pre-whelp. My wife went to explain to the groomer what she wanted done and imagine her surprise when the groomer pointed out that our dog was in labor!! The puppies were a few days early and barely over the "safe" mark for birth. Not only did they set up a cage for our dog but they allowed my wife to stay there with her. One the techs or the groomer also stayed with her at all times. When one of the puppies was born and wasn't breathing, my wife was very upset but fortunately the groomer knew puppy CPR and got her breathing. She is alive and well to this day!! They didn't even charge us! This clinic honestly has your pets best interest at heart and the staff is extremely well trained for emergancy care. Their compassion is just an added bonus. They are my vet clinic for life!

I visited this vet one time and it will be my last time. You can't even understand the vets because they are all Indian/Canadians, they talk in circles and by the time you comprehend what they are saying you are too exhaused to understand what they are talking about. The one vet tech is very rude, never smiles and always has a snide remark to say. The rest of them sit there and play video games on their cell phones. They treated my dog for something that didn't even do any good resulting in me having to take him to another vet and after only one treatment he was cured!! The ONLY positive thing that I can say about this vets office is that it is immaculately clean, smells fresh and sanitary and you can usually get same day appointments. Other than that I will never recommend them to any of my friends or family for professionalism or compassion.

The vets are good vets and the staff is wonderful. They have helped me through a very difficult time and the office has improved so much! When I first wrote this review, I ran into some difficult staff - but that is no more! I gave them another try and they redeemed themselves and I changed my review to reflect that I definitely trust them with my beloved animals!! So look at the rating but not the title - the vets AND the staff are wonderful!!!! I am glad I tried them again and just didn't walk away.

The vets and staff are caring and compassionate. I had quite a scare when my Molly had an allergic reaction to the rabies vaccine that I was unaware of, because I adopted her. She didn't react until after we got home...I called them and they told me to bring her in immediately. Everyone there treated it as the dire emergency it was and rushed her right in to an exam room. The vet left immediately left the other 'patient' he was already seeing and treated her immediately, and stayed with us until he was absolutely sure she was going to be okay. I wouldn't take her anywhere else.
