The West Springfield District Station is located in Springfield, Va. The station employs more than 130 sworn officers and over 35 civilians. It intervenes in cases of robbery, larceny, burglary, murder, sexual assault, serious crime and auto theft. It operates detectives, patrol and specialty divisions. It conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and interviews suspects, victims and witnesses. The West Springfield District Station also organizes several safety-related training programs for the general public. The organization is a part of the Fairfax County Police Department, which is a law enforcement agency. The department responds to emergency and nonemergency calls for service. It operates an emergency management division that responds during natural disasters and emergency situations. In addition, the Fairfax County Police Department offers services to victims and witnesses.
