WARNING! BEWARE! Do Not go here. they RUINED my daughters wedding dress. They do NOT know how to do alterations properly. PLEASE read their reviews, the ones with 5 stars are from their friends trying to improve their reputation. I wish we would of really checked them out first. Shame on us:(

Excellent, high quality service & craftsmanship! The alterations for my daughter's homecoming dress were perfect & the seamstress had it back to us within a week! I've also had several wide-legged jeans tapered to be more current & they look awesome. This is the only place in which I'll ever get alterations done...!

I brought in my dress 2 1/2 weeks before my prom so it wouldn't be rushed. The day I was going to pick it up they called me and told me it wasn't finished, they didn't even apologize about it. It took them two weeks to do it, I didn't get my dress until three days before my prom. When it was finally ready, it was horrible! The tulle was sticking out the back of the dress. I'm short so I got about 6 inches cut off and I requested to have straps made from what they cut off. They charged me a ridiculous amount for making the straps when they really ended up cutting off the corset string and used that for straps. The straps were sown on awfully. One strap was crooked and the other was on the wrong way, the seam was on the outside instead of the inside. I will never go back to that place.

I came here to have the bustle on my dress done. The seamstress that took care of me was wonderful. Unfortunately the work was not. The bustles fell off my dress in 4 different places two days before my wedding. I hand not even worn it yet. When I called to have them fixed they told me "they were very busy and could not fit me in". I was appalled. I spent a lot of money on the bustle and couldn't not believe how unprofessional they were. I highly recommend looking elsewhere before trusting them with your alterations. I recommend this company stand behind their work if they want to stay in business.

Brides and Grooms if you are in need of Bridal gown alterations and /or Tuxedo rental this is the place you must go. I found my bridal gown at a sample sale and fell in love with it. The problem was it was a size 12 and I'm a size 4. My sister, friend and co worker had recommended The Stitch to me for my alteration needs. So I called The Stitch and asked them if they could alter my dress down to a size 4. They told me they couldn't be certain unless they saw the dress. And agreed to meet me at the Bridal Boutique and see it on me. After seeing the dress on me, they told me exactly what they would need to do to get the dress to fit me. So I bought the dress right then and there! So excited! I went straight to The Stitch to start my alteration process. After only 2 fittings my dress fit PERFECTLY!!!! They did an incredible job and I couldn't be happier. Al 14 of my bridesmaids needed alterations on their dresses too. They opened the store on a Sunday so we could all meet there together for our fittings. What fun that was. Their dresses turned out perfect too. The Men's tuxedos arrived and they all looked great in them. I cant say enough about the staff at The Stitch, what a great experience we ALL had. I will use them for anything I need altered or sewen. I highly recommend The Stitch to any bride getting married and for all your alteration needs. They did such a great job, were friendly, fun and soooooo accommodating. Five Stars on every level.

The girls at the stitch do such Great work. I've been coming to the stitch for the last year with my Jeans and just recently with a few sports coats and let me tell you...these ladys know what they are doing! They make you feel like you're VIP the moment you walk in. They are constantly making sure that the work done will meet my standards, from the moment they pin it till I get it back. I HIGHLY recomend them to anyone in need of alterations.

I came across this alteration store while shopping at Vince and Joes. I am 5 foot and nothing fits me. So I decided to give this alteration store a shot, based on their great reviews and location. I havent been disappointed with my decision. I have been coming to this store for 3 years now. Everything that they have altered for me has turned out great. From dresses, pants, tops, jackets and more. I bring my daughter here too. SHe has had 2 prom gowns and 2 homecoming gowns done here. And as always they turn out perfect. Defintely bring your garments here for alterations. The space is beautiful and clean.......Yes clean!!!! First alteration place I have ever walked into that is clean.

Lovely alteration shop next to Vince and Joes! Had my weeding dress altered here, turned out perfect. Couldnt ask for a better experience. They also made me a custom veil, it turned out beautiful. Brides this is the place to go if your looking to have your bridal gown altered. They got it right the first time. I didnt have to keep going back for fittings. I had my bustle done, hemming, cups and bodice taken in, My dress fit my body perfectly, as if it was custom made for my body. The staff was fun and friendly too. Loved my seamstress Ann. She was confident and created such an amazing bustle. I love love love my bustle. My mother also brought her dress in to have it altered. Her dress was head to toe sequins and needed to be altered EVERYWHERE! Moms dress came out perfect too. Would defintely give these ladies 5 stars and you can feel safe and confident bringing your clothes to here to altered.

This place messed everything up for my wedding day and added so much unnecessary stress! So the tuxes were supposed to come in the Tuesday before my wedding but they came late so the guys only had the day before our wedding to pick everything up. So I go there with my now husband and when he tries everything on, I see that pretty much everything is wrong! They asked me months ago what color my dress was to match and I told them ivory. Well all the guys shirts were bright white! Not only that but they had my husband wearing a red vest and tie like the groomsmen when we had discussed him wearing all ivory to match me! Every place I've been to always said the groom matches the bride so why would they even order his in red?? So since it's so late, they have to overnight all his stuff but it's too late to change the groomsmen because some had already picked theirs up. To top it off, half the guys and dads suits didn't even fit them! They were all too big and had to come back and get those fixed as well! It doesn't seem like this place knows how to do weddings at all or even measure which is what they do! I will let everyone I know to never go to this place. They are absolutely horrible!!!

I had an absolutely horrible experience getting my wedding dress alterations done at The Stitch, and would NOT recommend them to anyone. I was treated poorly and insulted from the very first visit when I was asked by Heidi (the owner), "Why is your dress so BIG? Oh, you must have gotten it off the rack." Then had to make a total of 5 separate trips to the store for alterations, steaming, and fixing things that should have been done correctly in the first place. When trying on my dress after the first set of alterations, I noticed the neckline of the dress was crooked (it was NOT crooked when I bought the dress). However, the Stitch charged me $70 to fix the neckline, saying that the neckline was crooked when I brought the dress in (if it was crooked when I brought it in, then why wasn't it noticed the first time I tried the dress on?). The bustle had to be fixed three times, including two days before my wedding because it was still not correct. They also charge an additional $50 for steaming the dress, even though this should be included, especially after what I paid for alterations. Oh, and we also had to pay before alterations were done, instead of after, which is unheard of at any tailor I have ever been to. Lastly, I was told it would only take an hour to steam my dress, however, when I dropped my dress off, they told me to come back in two days, and when I called after two days and wanted to pick up my dress earlier in the day, I still had to wait because they had not steamed it yet. At this point, I had tons to do since my wedding was three days away, yet had to sit around waiting for my dress to be steamed. The seamstress is very sweet and I had no problem with her, but the owner, Heidi, is rude, pretentious, and extremely unprofessional. It was an absolutely horrible experience that left me in tears. I would think twice before getting anything, especially a wedding dress, altered at The Stitch.

Love this alteration shop in Shelby Township! I take all of my clothes here to be altered! I come here at least once a week. I'm always greeted with a smile and by name. The store is always impeccably clean which is important to me! My clothes are always altered perfectly and on time! The shop is always busy with customers which is a good sign! It means they do good work! I trust them with all of my clothes from jeans to formal wear.

AMAZING seamstresses at The Stitch Alterations. If you are in need of a seamstress this is the best place to go. I have all my clothing done at The Stitch. I ecspecially like the way they do my jeans. I always need the waist and seats taken in and the bottoms hemmed. You can never tell they were altered. All the jean stitching is put back in. They do a tricky hem to jeans. Thats where they reattach the original hem to the bottom. It looks as if it was never altered. Gad I found this shop. I finally have a seamstress I love. Also, thank you for all the hard work you did on the dance studios competition costumes. They look amazing. I know you all work after hours to get them done in time. The sequins you added to all the costumes looked great on stage. Thanks again

If your looking for an alteration shop that can't get the work done on time, does horrible work on your clothes,where it looks nice on the inside but the people are not, the mother/daughter duo are extremely sarcastic, rude and give alot of excuses and lip service Then this is the place for you.

Im not one to rely on reviews, everyone has an opinion. I will take reviews to heart NOW after dealing with the stitch. All I can say is they did a horriable job on my dress and I had to wait 5 days longer than when they said it would be ready. I wanted the sleeves shortened and one is longer than the other. I wanted a pair of pants hemmed and the stitching looks loose as if it gets caught on something the whole thing will come apart. Very poor work, will NEVER be back !!!! I dont even want them to correct the problem, I am just going to take them and any other alterations I may need in the future some where else. This place doesnt know what they are doing.

I first found this shop while shopping at Vince and Joes. Because I am such a petite woman I am always in need of alterations. I just can't say enough about this shop. The staff is great and so friendly. My clothes are always perfect and ready for me when I come to pick them up. I spend a lot of money on my clothing and expect them to be altered to perfection. I have finally found a place that I can go and get a great job done on my clothing alterations. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. I was last minute bringing my dress in for a wedding. I actually brought it in the night before the wedding. The seamstress said she would stay late and finish it. And she dropped it off at MY home on her way home. Now that is customer service!!!! Highly recommend this alteration shop to anyone!

Talented seamstresses! I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of alterations. I take all of my clothes to The Stitch. I lost 30 lbs! They altered all of my suits to fit my new body. Everything fit me to a "T".
