Horrible experience! Owner proceeded to use profanity throughout my entire dinner, while he was drinking wine with friends at other table in the restaurant. We didn't have our children with us...or we would of left immediately. This behavior is highly inappropriate. He was also very rude and disrespectful to the customers. Can't believe they are still in business.

My husband and I frequent this restaurant several times a month or more. We have yet to have a bad meal here. The food is wonderful, the sangria is perfect...very family friendly, and the wait staff are very personable. We have taken many of our friends here as well and none have ever had any complaints. 5 Star Recommendation!

I do not believe a word of that last review. Maybe we had a little too much cerveza and got out of control??? My wife and I go to Cactus Cafe at least once a week. We eat at some of the best restaurants in the area (Sunset Grille, Marlin Moon, Grove Market), and Cactus Cafe is among our favorite. That last depiction by beach19970 does not sound AT ALL like the Cactus Cafe we know. The staff is excellent. The owner ALWAYS greets us, either at the door or at our table, with a strong "Welcome!" and a smile. The place is always busy, always festive. The food is consistantly good...I highly recommend the Grouper Griego. Their margaritas are better than some I've had in Mexico. Try cactus Cafe, you'll come back for more.

I assume this is the same Cactus Cafe as on Dupont Hwy a few blocks away:
I ordered a Chimicanga despite a warning from the server it wasn't deep fried. It didn't appear to have any beef either. It had beans and something that looked like dog food. A sample bite told me it might have been dog food. I asked to speak with the owner who showed up in a huff, grabbed my plate and left without a word. I short time later, I recieved a $5.00 check for my drink and left a $10 bill to cover it an the servers trouble. On the way out I ran into the owner and to make a long story short we started arguing. He also poked me and was joined by a relative who also started screaming louder than anyone. Then the relative said he was calling the cops which I was delighted to hear. It seems they told the police I was running out on a check.
Needless to say my food at this place was inedible and the service was inhospitable. I think the place should be closed or at least avoided.
