I called at 8AM to get a quote for replacing the extension springs on my garage door, one of which had broken during the night. Fortunately nothing damaged, no one hurt. I was given the price over the phone. I called several other companies who I either got recorded messages (one being very unprofessional) or a quote which was the same as Metropolitan. I called them back & their service tech arrived later that afternnon right on schedule. He replaced both springs and made a full inspection of the door & hardware. He noted that two of my 4 pulleys were worn; one of them quite badly. As the pulleys were from opposite sides of the door and one top and one bottom, I decided to have him replace all four before he could even reccomend it. I also asked about installing safety cables which was a reasonable price and gives me the assurance that if a spring ever breaks again, it won't go flying and hit something. He finished the repair and lubricated and tested the door and opener. There were no suprises when I was given the bill. Just the expected add on for pulleys and the cable - no upcharge on the labor as it was all completed within the first hour which I suppose is their basic charge for a servicce call. The door has never worked so smoothly in the 14 years I have owned the home. Funny thing too, Metropolitan installed the door back in 1990. I would highly reccomend them and their technician Scott.



PS, I have no idea what the other reviewer meant by the owner being a Soprano wannabe - he was courteous, polite and gave accurate information and pricing on the phone.
