7 years ago I completed the methadone program. It was a long journey and I fell many times in the begining but I kept coming back. I was in the program for about 2 years. This program offered the tools I needed to rebuild my life and create new healthy habits. The drug test, counceling, peer groups, and Acudetox were all critical in my recovery. I would sit in the methadone clinic with the acudetox/ acupuncture needles in my ears and say one day I am going to give back the way this program gave me my life back. I believe that the free Acudetox helped with withdrawls, adhereing to the program, and remembering my "true self." I am happy to announce that this week was my first week of Acupuncture school in Sarasota Florida! Biomed gave me the tools needed to begin and maintain my recovery.

Today, January 29, 2019 the clinic was closed. No warning to its patients. So as a patient that has been in the program for almost 2 years what am I suppose to do when I cannot get my medication? There is no alternative. An inhumane way to treat patients who daily take methodone. There is no information on the website or phone message to let people know they are closed. There is no emergency contact to get medication. What a terrible way to treat patients that are suffering from addiction and using this as an alternative. Shame on you Dr. Brian McCarroll!!!

They are very rude, very unprofessional and the girls at the front desk show favoritism to certain clients especially Jasmine. She will let some clients come back and do their 60 day visit when they want and others she tells they need to do it that day. I understand if you are way late on it you may have to do it that day but when you tell a client that IS late on their 60 day they can do it next week then proceed to tell another client 30 seconds later they have to do theirs on that day when that clients is early(not due for a few more days) that's favoritism and not treating all clients the same. Either let everyone slide or no one don't play favorites at a medical facility. Not to mention she is rude, short with people, and just stares at you with a dirty look until you give her your patient number. I like Dr. Mccarrol very much he is a great doctor, it's just too bad he has unprofessional rude people working the front desk that damage the image of biomed. Also I do think it's ridiculous that you have to wait an hour minimum (most often several hours) with no notice or you can't dose to do your 60 day.

Essentially, Biomed and its very wealthy owner, Dr. McCarrel provide alternatives NOT SOLUTIONS for addicts in the area. There is never an end game plan. They want you there daily or you are expelled, like I was. Essentially to make room for more profitable "clients". Everyone is treated like cattle at feeding time and many of the nurses treat you like a run of the mill junkie. The owner literally brags about his expensive vacations from the boatload of money he makes from keeping opiate addicts addicted to his facility. Unless you are interested in trading one addiction for another, STAY AWAY from this filthy place.

Nurses and staff are very friendly, but also professional. Same with the doctors. The thing with Biomed is that it's a methadone clinic and everything works better if you pay attention to what the rules are regarding your personal treatment.

The office is mostly clean, but the 2 restrooms that clients use could be cleaned a little more often.

I would recommend Biomed to anyone who is interested in their type of services.

This is the worst place to go. You wait in line for hrs and the staff tell you right to your face any thing you ask them it's not their problem. You'll sit and wait hrs for your appointments and then the people won't even take you and see you they tell u to come back tomorow. Double charge you 80 a week and then tell you you still have not paid and they are going to kick you off the program. Place is a total joke

definitely a life saver, not only do i have crohns disease like david, but i had that protien mesh thats having all those class action lawsuits and my surgeon used it on a male instead of a female so i get no help out of SO SO many of these class actions, but thats a diff story,, instead of being on 180 10/325 norcos every 20 days i just go in once a day and they also counsel you and take care of you. the most legitimate place for the type of work they do with 1 on 1 with your own personal councelor as well as groups pertaining to the types of issues you have.. if you feel like your stuck between a rock and a hard place, trust me,, this is the place for you

Bio Med has sure been a life saver! I know methadone has a very bad stigma attached to it which I do understand but that's for the people that are using it for the wrong reasons. I suffer from Crohn's disease and which causes excruciating pain which the methadone eliminates for the entire day. This way I'm not taking prescribed opiates multiple times a day. Having to go to the clinic has put structure in my life and made it so I am not able to abuse my methadone like you could with suboxone. All of the staff at Bio Med treat you with respect instead of like a "typical dope fiend". They are very fast when dosing and are polite. My counselor was great and she helped me in different areas of my life. I give Bio Med 6 stars if I could. I went from homeless to now having a sick two bedroom apartment, my rent is paid 2 months in advance, all my bills are paid, I have plenty money in the bank, I'm the Top Producer where I work in home and auto insurance and most importantly I have not used heroin or any other illegal drugs since coming to Bio Med. Bio Med has really helped me do a total 360. I have been thru 10 residential treatment centers any where from one week to a 1 year program. I have maintained 1.5 years of total sobriety. But I can definitely say my life has never been this good. Thank you Bio Med and thank you Methadone!

Very helpful and courteous staff.

I've been a patient for over a year and I really like it there. The staff doesn't look down on you like some other facilities do. They treat everyone the same. They are very kind to everyone and they really do care about their patients'. They work very crewed scarf
