Woodside Apartments

I lived at this apartment complex for 2 years, only because I wasn't able to get everything finished for buying a house in time after the first year. The people in the main office and maintenance people are great, other than the fact that my air conditioner never worked well enough to actually keep my apartment cool in the summer. It blew out cold air, but not strongly enough to actually keep it cool, so my electric bill in the summer was very expensive just to keep my apartment at a livable temperature.



However, the people at the management company that you have to deal with regarding rent and getting your security deposit back are HORRIBLE. I've never had to deal with such horrible people in my 15 years of living in apartments. They're the reason I said forget it and bought a house.



For starters, regardless of when your check is put in the mail, if it doesn't reach them by the 5th they charge you a late fee. So if there's a mix up in the mail and they don't receive your check by the 5th even though you mailed it in plenty of time for it to get their by the first, you are going to be charged a late fee.



On top of that when I moved out they told me they sent my security deposit to the wrong address and blamed it on me saying I'd written it down wrong. I gave them a new address and asked them to please send my security deposit there. FOUR MONTHS LATER I finally had to call screaming because I still had not received my check, they just kept saying "it's on our list of things to do, we're very busy" and when they finally sent it out they sent it to the address that according to them I didn't write down properly.



I'm sorry, if I didn't write it down properly then how did you mail it there? The address that I gave you to send it to the 2nd time was a COMPLETELY different address.



In short, while the staff at the actual Woodside Apartments is great, and the rent is reasonable, the ladies at the management office make this someplace you should definitely avoid.
