Atchison Village Credit Union

This small credit union ($6 million in assets) does a great job of serving its mostly low income members. It's been in business for 50 years. Most loans are for new or used cars, or purchase of a unit at the Atchison Village Mutual Homes Corporation. Dividends are better than at many larger CUs. Because this CU is too small to do mortgage loans it hasn't gotten hurt by the mortgage mess.
