This place is great. They took me right away. Had pain shooting through my hip into my back. The nursing staff was very nice and Dr. Ristow actually listened and payed attention to what I was saying. Unlike alot of doctors I have met where they treat you like a assembly line. I definitly recomend this urgent care.

I took my duughter in as she was having abdominal pain. After testing and x-rays, I was told everything looked normal and we needed to go to the ER for an ultrasound. After seven hours, testing and an ultrasound, everything was fine. Three days later, I received a call from the Urgent Care stating that her culture results were back and positive for a uti. They wanted to call in an antibiotic. I was never told that they were sending anything out for a culture. When I said that I couldn't believe that we went to the ER for nothing, the nurse told me that they wanted further testing done. I was never given the information I needed to make an informed decision about my daughters care. When I called and left a message for the office manager to call me to discuss the situation, she never called me back. I will NEVER step foot in this facility again!

Overall
Horrible doctor

I waited an hour and a half to see the doctor. While I was finally in the exam room the doctor and nurse were having personal conversations that I could hear in the hallway while I continued to wait. HE DIDNT WASH HIS HANDS ONCE WHILE HE WAS IN THE ROOM WITH ME. also left in the middle to take a 5 minute personal phone call. Doctor was rude and condescending. Discussed drugs that another patient was on with me (pretty sure that's illegal)

Overall

I would not recommend anyone going to this urgent care for any reason. If you have a cold or flu that's about all they are good at diagnosing - make an appointment with your GP doctor before going to them in these cases. Unfortunately it costs more to go to an ER but if it is truly Urgent that is where I am heading. In April my dog scratched my eye. I went to Wedgewood urgent care and there eye machine to look at my eye was broken. I was told to go to thier affiliate located at North Cleveland avenue. I asked the doctor at Wedgewood to first call that facility and see if their eye machine was working. The attending doctor at the Westerville facility advised the doctor at wedgewood to 'just give him the eye salve and send him home'. Really? I do give the Doctor (who was a temporary fill in doctor) credit. She called an Optomologist and was given good advice and was able to put dye in my eye and use the hand help eye inspection device to see the scratch and that it was not bad. To make matters worse. I get a call a couple months later from Urgent Care billing indicating I had not paid my portion for that visit. Well....they sent the bill to the incorrect address - how can this happen when EVERYTIME you sign in they VALIDATE? your home address. Unnacceptable. Another item. The day after the fourth of July I had to go in as I had badly sprained my ankle. They at least took x-rays and saw no bone fracture just ligament damage. This was my left ankle. The attending doctor said she would really like to put my left ankle/foot in a boot cast but they do not carry those items as part of their inventory of supplies. She instead instructed the nurse to place an Aif Soft cast on my ankle. Once I got home I realized (fortunately) that they had put a RIGHT ankle brace on my LEFT ankle. I am very glad I discovered that quickly as the implications of me wearing the wrong Air Soft cast could have meant inproper healing and possible further more expensive work to heal it had I continued to where the incorrect Air Soft cast. This is a level of incompetence I cannot phathom. I called an complained to Marc Hilgenberg (spelling may be incorrect) the Director of Operations for this facility. He was of course 'sorry' for the inconvenience. Right. I would not go to this facility if I were you and it is a real Urgent Care type of situation. My experiences have shown they do not inventory and make sure their diagnostic equipment is ready before they start accepting patients and they also do not stock the appropriate items for (boot casts, air casts, etc) to be able to 'properly' provide the level of care that one would expect from an Urgent Care facility. Formulate your own opinions from your experiences. I certainly have.

Overall
Professional care with a smile

A 10 out of 10 experience!

I went in with what I thought might be pertussis (whooping cough) and was taken back within 5 minutes. The exam was very specific and quick, and nebulizer therapy was begun within minutes. They checked for its effect (positive) and promptly wrote 3 scripts for full treatment.

The receptionist, the nurse, and the attending physician were personable, professional, and seemed genuinely committed to service. Frankly I got better care than at my GP's office.

Without question I would recommend Wedgewood Urgent Care to anyone in the area needing prompt, courteous, and effective treatment.
