Went in 2017, was told I need a strut bushing. I paid a mechanic to do it, $70. The van was practically diving off the road. I went back. They charged me $35 to adjust the steering gears. The van tracked slightly sideways down the road and the steering wheel wasn't straight.

I didn't get back for almost a year, as I moved. I went in expecting a free adjustment for the steering wheel. They said the strut bushing was wrong, installed backwards, and my bearings were loose, and I needed a ball joint. I paid $100 to have the strut bushing reversed, and another $275 for the ball joint and another alignment.

I went on a trip, there was a lot of bearing sounds, I brought it back. They said both my front bearings were fried. I suggested it was their adjustment that had done it.

Next thing I know, the front office woman had gone and said something to John, the owner, and he was standing before me so angry he was literally twitching. My wife had overheard John when he was told I was talking about their adjustment causing the bearings to burn up (and by the way there was wear on the spindle from the fried bearings digging a groove during my trip). She didn't hear the office lady, but she heard John saying he would have my van dragged out of his shop by a tow truck. She said he want from 0 to 10 in anger in a moment.

So, I paid for bearings and labor and left.

That was a bad experience.

As a teacher on the coast for many years I asked my Facebook friends for a recommendation for an alignment shop. My tires were wearing out on the outside.
Going Straight was highly recommended, and I made an appointment to have them look at it while I was to be in the Portland area. I took it there and JJ saw that the rear of my Toyota Highlander Hybrid was not adjustable from the factory, and that the front would need more adjustment than it would take without after market camber adjustable bolts. Four camber adjusts were installed and my new tires wear properly after the perfect alignment. It's a three hour drive, but I won't go anywhere else.

I would like to thank and recommend Goin Straight! JJ and crew, number one ARE HONEST. They will tell you if you need an alignment or not, and not just do it to make money. They also got a broken lug nut out of my bmw, and didn't even charge me because it only took 15 min.

Thank you JJ and team! Justin

I came in to Goin Straight to get a second opinion on my brakes. The Dealer told me that the fronts were at 3mm and the backs were at 4mm and we should probably do all of the brakes and just get it done for $580. After about a 15 min inspection at Goin Straight, JJ told me I wouldn't need brakes until probably FEBRUARY and not only that but my front brake pads had less wear than my rear. She even took me to my car to show me with my own two eye that my brakes have lots of pad left on them. They told me come back in 3-4 months and they will help me when I am in need for brakes.

In the mean time the dealership has called and emailed multiple times in the past week letting me know that my brakes failed "their" inspection and I need to get them replaced before my next service.

Since 2004, I've have used Johns (Goin Straight) since purchasing my 1993 motorhome. They have replaced most of the suspension parts as well as the brakes. John uses his vast experience to set alignment and make the rig go straight down the road. In the office, JJ will take care of you. Unlike most shops, you can actually talk to her or John and discuss your vehicle issues. Pricing is more than fair.

My 1988 Toyota truck was hit while parked and the frame was bent along with some quarter panel and tail damage. I had a heck of a time finding a body or repair shop that could or would fix it due to the age. It actually spent almost 2 years sitting at a body shop. Not wanting to just give up as it had a new engine, transmission and more, I was then referred to John's after calling around and spoke to JJ who was very helpful. Well they were happy to take it on and they did an incredibly great job. I just wanted to make the truck drive-able and didn't care at that point about aesthetics or body work but John went the extra mile and fixed up the tail and quarter panel a bit and even straightened out the mashed bumper so I am pleased beyond belief! I have my truck back after thinking all was lost!

This is the best mechanic I have ever used and you will feel the same. Thank you John and JJ!

I dont even know where to start with these guys. My experience was outstanding and I would recommend this shop to anyone. Had another shop butcher my steering set up so I took it here. These guys spend a hour and a half working and perfecting my steering and it drives like a dream now. I don't daily drive my vehicle due to it being a off road rig only but after there work I almost drive it every day.

Thank you guys for everything you did to my 2000 jeep Cherokee

Took my son's 1967 Mustang in to be aligned. They evaluated what needed to be replaced, went above and beyond to find the correct parts for the conversion on this car, and repaired and aligned and came in below the estimate. They were awesome. Great service at a fair price!! I would highly recommend them. Andy G.

JJ & John are excellent. I was referred to their shop by a previous mechanic to get a front wheel alignment and to find a solution to a noise that my car was having for awhile. After taking it to five different mechanics before-hand, John was able to figure out the problem and fix it. It was a huge relief and great satisfaction.

JJ is a very friendly and informative manager. She was fun to talk too while getting my car worked on. John is a honest and reliable mechanic that gets the job done right. He will not stop until he gets the problem fixed. Both JJ and John's work ethic exceeded my expectations.

I HIGHLY recommend their business to anyone who wants a high quality job done right.

After I became fed-up with another mechanic for cross threading a lug nut on my Acura, I was advised to try Goin Straight Alignment (AKA John's Frame Shop). They took the care to not damage my custom rim (which didn't leave them much working room) while removing the seized lug nut / wheel stud. Very friendly folk with solid advice and lots of skill.

I've used John's Frame Shop twice now, once for alignment on my son's 4Runner, and recently for alignment and a power steering leak on my Sequoia. John's personal attention to every detail, honest assessment of what's needed, and he and JJ's incredible customer service are beyond incredible. I'll never take my cars anywhere else for steering and frame work. These guys are the best.

went to meineke last Monday to get an alignment waited for 2 1/2 hrs. then went to drive away and my van still pulled hard to the right. took it right back to meineke waited another 45 mins. for them to tell me that there was something wrong with the back of my van and they couldn't fix it..

at this point I was kinda frustrated but,

I remembered johns frame shop from years ago when I took another vehicle there and was happy with the service.

I called at 4:40pm and they told me they could fix it right and bring it in. got there at 5;10pm and was out the door by 6pm with my van driving strait.

these guys went above and beyond to get things right for me.

I highly recommend johns frame shop

Going Straight (aka John's) Alignment was recommended to me by my father, who has been a mechanic in Portland since the 1950's. He would never take a vehicle of his elsewhere, and now neither will I. I drove from Lake Oswego to Gresham and I was very skeptical about the value of doing so. But they had my car lined up in under a 1/2 hour AND straightened out a control arm that I thought would have to be replaced.

JJ is awesome at customer service, and John has the knowhow to fix ANY suspension problem. Find out why its worth it to support their great local business by giving them a call.
