General Info: General Shanks Elementary School provides academic instruction to students in kindergarten through grade five. The school has a parent-teacher association that works to foster close relations between parents and the school and welcome parents to attend meetings and participate in its varied activities. It has a library media center that provides access to several Internet resources, books, magazines and newspapers to stimulate the intellectual development of students and staff. The school offers educational classes in art, physical education, reading, creative writing, math, science, social studies, spelling and vocabulary, basic skills and computer applications.
