Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast

Unfortunately the house keeper Wims' arrogance shined through more than the Riverside Bed and Breakfasts beauty. The BnB is over priced as a wedding venue, for what is included. Maybe the most discouraging attribute of all, is the fact that the rates are not consistent and don't change seasonally but by how much the house keeper thinks you can pay. I know of this misleading business technique because after doing much research within friends and community, at least 3 parties paid 3 different prices for the same accommodations provided. After bringing this information to the BnB, Wim said "we just don't offer those rates anymore". Even though, those rates were 3 weeks apart. He made it seem as though they are a cooperation and they don't have any control over the price of their services, when in fact they can do what ever they want with the property since they are the owners. It's not that they "don't offer though's rates anymore", its that they won't if they think you can afford more. Further more the kind, inviting and seeming honest demeanor of the house keeper quickly changed when our minds were made up not to use the BnB as a ceremony and reception venue but just as a ceremony location. As there are a few things concerning even without the above mentioned. Like everything is outside leaving much stress about the weather. The night would have to end at an early and strict 10:00PM. Nothing but the house is included in the hefty price, not even chairs. Etc. We thought that Wim would be grateful that we wanted to include the BnB at all, yet it was the complete opposite. We received a very cold environment and unreasonable pricing... Everything happens for a reason and thankfully the Palmetto Bed and Breakfasts true colors came out because now we have a ceremony space and venue with everything the BnB has to offer and more, in an even more desirable location as historic St Petersburg. Don't settle on the misfortunes of this BnB, there are so many other great places with true and honest character.

This place is amazing! We had our wedding there last weekend and they were the most welcoming hosts. We rented the B&B from Friday - Sunday so that our families could stay on site and it was superb. There is not a bad room in the house, there is a great seafood restaurant across the street where we had our rehearsal dinner and the family that runs it could not be more helpful or more amazing. The breakfasts they serve in the mornings are to die for and everything (including the yogurt) is homemade. Wim and Mieke set up the chairs for our ceremony and all of our reception tables (even though I changed the layout three times they still had a smile). We are already planning a return trip just to visit and relax. I can not thing of a single thing that went wrong or was less than expected. I have never had a better or more relaxing weekend. Relaxing on your wedding weekend? Who ever heard of such a thing? It happened here and this place is flawless.
