Got the appointment time I wanted. Plumber arrived when scheduled, quickly did the two repairs I needed, even saved me some money in the process. I have been a customer for over 25 years, and have always been satisfied with the work they have done.

I should have read the reviews before calling. The manufacturer of the water heater, Apollo Hydro Heat, recommended them as the factory authorized and trained service. Called them, was quoted a $59 service call fee, which I agreed to. Their guy came, looked at the water heater for a few minutes, said everything was ok and charged $150 for 'diagnosis.' I called them and they agreed to refund the extra charges since they weren't authorized.

Disappointed

After seeing their truck on the road and hearing the commercials on WTOP I thought of them first when I discovered a leak in my panty this morning. I called them at approximately 9am this morning asking when they coud have someone come out. They offered me a slot of 1-4 today, and they would call when they were on their way. So I came home from work, emptied the pantry for them to work and waited.....3:30 came and no call, no show so I called them to see what the plan was. They said they would "page" the technician (ok, who pages anymore anyway) and call me back. Well as of 4:45 no one had called or arrived so I called again. I was told that they hadn't gotten a response from their technician so he would try again and call me right back. Well a few minutes later he called and said the tech ran into trouble at another job and could not come today after all, but could try for tomorrow afternoon. I declined.

The part that I have the problem with....a simple phone call, communication, would have made all the difference. I had to call. I'm sorry, I'm not going to chase you to give you my money. There are a million plumbers out there, Real Plumbers it one I won't be calling again.

My 2 year old water heater had...

My 2 year old water heater had a leak at the electrical panel. It was installed by another company for $700, but I could not reach them. Since I heard the Real Plumbers commercial often, by Chris Core from the radio WTOP, I thought these guys are honest professionals, but I was so wrong. The technician came the next day and laid out all kinds of charges. He said that the leak cannot be patched; the whole tank has to be replaced. I said ok at least the water tank was still under warranty, but then the guy talked about the tank was not installed properly by the previous guy, blah blah blah, and the final cost for replacing the tank still under warranty was $919. How could that be I asked? He kept saying things with an accent, and I could not understand, but I knew he was trying to weave around. He showed my to book of prices here and there. What can I do when water is leaking in my basement? Then I had to leave for work and agreed to whatever he said. I felt really stupid and want to let everyone know about these guys. They really take advantage of you in situations you need immediate help. These are Real Cheaters.
