John and Emily Farrey founded Farrey s Wholesale Hardware in 1924 in Miami. It was a small general store that sold hardware, linens, lights, china, fishing gear and home products. During the south Florida housing boom in the 1950s, the company focused more on lighting and bathroom fixtures. Farrey's Wholesale Hardware is an international company with showrooms in North Miami and Coral Gables, Fla. The company s facilities exceed 131,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space in North Miami, and more than 32,000 square feet at the Coconut Grove, Fla., location.
