This is the best pizza ever. We have been going here for 22 years. We have been everywhere and no one can compare to ERNIES. Very friendly and who cares if they only have paper plates its only pizza. We usually get it to go but its taste so much better right out of the oven when we do stay occasionally. We dont get pizza as much as we used to due to the economy but when we want to splurge its ERNIES for sure

Overall
an arm and a leg pizza

I'm sorry i wanted to rate it one half star for having a whole wheat option, but apparently yellow pages doesn't offer half stars, so it is overrated. i don't know where to begin listing of the issues in this 'pizzeria'. I guess i will start with arriving. well from the outside, it looks like a quaint family restaurant and has ample parking space if you don't mind parking sideways on a hill. It IS nice and warm inside (no overwhelming air conditioners) and is a sit down restaurant, but for the moderate-high price range, i feel that something better than paper plates should be offered to dine on. The menu is strictly pizza, beverages, and a tossed salad, lacking the variety and choice that is customary at practically every restaurant i've ever been to, with the exception of five guys burgers and fries which is a fast food place, that, if not hinted by the name, is devoted to the making of burgers and fries. As i mentioned before, both whole wheat and gluten free options are available, which is a relief for health gurus such as myself, and for people who are allergic to gluten products. i would expect a small extra fee for whole wheat or gluten free meals, and the one dollar charge for whole wheat IS agreeable, however, the 8 dollar extra charge on an $8.50 small pizza applied to the gluten free option is outrageous! thats paying for almost 2 whole pizzas. As a mother of someone with allergies to wheat, i was happily delighted with the sans-gluten choice...until the bill came. Not only does the menu not specify the exact extra cost of a gluten free pizza (or even a range), but the waitress failed to inform me of the crust cost, or even imply any change in price for it. The pizza itself was only so so, not awful but not even in the same range as pizza in new york, where i have lived for over 40 years and eaten at countless pizzeria's. The sauce is bordering on bland, and the cheese is slightly rubbery, not to mention if you want a traditional pizza, as in with mozzarella instead of Parmesan cheese, you must pay a dollar extra. If you do indeed decide to eat at ernies, make sure you have at least 25 dollars per person in cash, because credits cards and yes, checks too, are not accepted. This was the first time in my entire life that i have not left a tip, and although wasting the time to write this review is not worth it, i feel like i should leave some sort of warning to those who might consider eating here. And i know my review is harsh, but its a harsh world, and people deserve the cold harsh truth.
