Overall

The technician was on time but had an attitude that he would much rather be anywhere else. When he pulled the opener out of the box he set it on the cement floor and then pushed the entire unit away from him to make room. This completely scratched up the unit, both the metal motor casing and the plastic casing for the lights. He didn't mention anything about it and just continued his work. He took no care in where he placed the opener button, just loosely screwed in into the wall. He left wires just hanging everywhere even though the box had included pieces to secure the wires to the wall neatly. When he left he stated that he had the belt as tight as he could get it but it didn't seem right. All of this is wrong to begin with but the worst part was the customer service by both the staff and the owner, Jim, in the office. I followed up the install with a phone call to let them know I was unsatisfied with the install. She said that she was not able to help with this problem and that Rick had to talk to the boss, Jim about the problem. She promised me a call back by the end of the day. I did not get a call back. A day later I called back and was passed to Jim, the owner. Jim told me that he believed his installer and that if the installer said that he didn't damage the unit it must have come out of the box that way. Jim informed me that the installed knew what he was doing and had been installing openers for their company for several years. He told me that he could not believe my word over his installers and would not be coming out to fix the problem. I spoke to Jim twice over several days as after the first phone call he told me that he was going to go talk to his installer again. Jim did call me back when he said he was going to but then proceeded to call me a liar, without using the word, ans told me to call Chamberlain and try to get them to replace it. He said they would come fix the wiring but that we must have gotten a defective until and that Chamberlain would need to fix the problem. I asked for a different technician to come out to fix the wiring but Jim refused saying that the original technician needed to come fix his work. I requested someone different because the first technician didn't seem to know what he was doing and showed very little care for the final product. Jim refused. I asked to have my money refunded. Jim told me that "You are welcome to get your money back anyway that you can but I will NOT be giving it back to you." He was very rude at this point.

This is a company who does NOT stand behind their work and has poor craftsmanship. I recommend to anyone looking for a garage door or garage door opener install to stay far away from this company. Cost wise they are competitively priced to other installers.

DON'T TRUST THEM & DON'T BUY FROM THEM!

We bought two fireplaces from them and had them do the installation of the fireplaces including the chimney venting system. During one of our winter season, the brand new chimney vent cap came off. I've called them several times, no one called back. When I finally had someone on the phone, their reply was "well, your house is on a hill so we can not be responsible for strong wind". We had an independent chimney specialist to inspect and to repair it they found out the following:1. Chimney cap liner was held by only one nail2. Chimney cap base was "rested" on top without any silicone & fastners 4. Chimney cap was void of chimney crown wash - this section is very important to prevent water damage to inside of chimney. We called them again to show the chimney cap the independent chimney company brought down as an evidence, and they insisted that it was installed correctly and if it wasn't we called too late, meaning our warrenty has expired.PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY

Fireside is the worst for customer service

I unfortunately had Fireside install my Quadra- Fire wood insert. What I thought would be an easy install turned out to be a nightmare. I finally had withold payment before they would correctly install and flash the roof-cap. I have had two fan controllers go out in 2 1/2 years. Fireside will not stand behind the products they sell. Even though the controller was six months out of warranty I feel Fireside could have worked with Quadrafire and had the part warranteed. I will never do business with Fireside again.

Avoid at all costs!

We went to this store, and while it's true that they have a nice showroom, their customer service was horrible. After stringing us along for 2 months, we finally just had them provide a price quote for the HearthCo materials we were interested in. Their quote seemed incredibly high, so we did some more research. We then discovered a different dealer in the Seattle area (Cressy Door) who gave us excellent customer service, and their bid for the EXACT SAME MATERIALS was less than half. So that's where we purchased the materials. We're going to report Fireside to our local consumer watchdog group, to help others avoid getting ripped off by their ridiculously inflated prices. We hope that HearthCo considers dropping Fireside as a dealer - while they present as a 'pretty picture' in terms of their showroom, their apathetic customer service combined with their rip-off prices make them a must-avoid dealership.
