I am so upset with Maxx towing that i'm intears right now. They make you feel stupid if your a girl and dont know about cars. They charged me too much and then made me feel dumb for asking questions. I should have read the reviews first.

BEWARE

This company preys on women and females that do not have much knowledge of cars....I have never been treated so bad in my life and was warned by a friend that they did bad business but still reached out to someone there I thought I knew....never take your car there unless you want to be taken advantage of and lose all the way around!!!!

I recently brought my '01 Blazer to Maxx and got nothing but the best parts, service, and professional courtsy that I can remember. Not olny did they honor a quote that I had lost and was over a month old (by the way it was given to my wife qnd she was the one that told me to use them) but they got the job done very quickly. Thank you to all the guys up there, I will continue to use them and hope anyone who reads this will to.

Absolutely wonderful place. They all drove my Vue to try and figure it out. When they decided ti was something that was beyond fixing, they were very upfront and honest about it. DID not recommend trying anything else, even though I flat out asked, "What about a trans flush?" He COULD have said, "Oh yeah, lets try it.." and charged me 50 bucks. But he didn't. Told me, "No that wont help". Would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone! Very honest, nice, knowledgable people.

I just read the reviews on this site and I am amazed...I am a woman and due to the intense heat my car overheated and I needed a tow so I called Maxx as they were the closest. I have never been treated with more respect and was given a very fair price for the repairs that were needed. Don't knock 'em until you've tried them!!

This place is terrible! I am so sorry and disappointed in myself that I did not read the review first before going to this place. Please never go there and DO NOT TELL ANYBODY TO GO THERE EITHER. I am so upset I have already started legal actions. I do agree that they talk down to woman, because they believe we know nothing about car, which is just sexist. I went there because my brother recommended it (he is now on my sh*t list as well) because they did his wife brake. Her brakes, are now back squeaking. My car won't start and they told me I needed a new cylinder coil. They replaced it and I was back on the road for 1 whole week. Next thing I know my car won't start again. They said it was 2 more cylinder coils and I should replace them all. I was annoyed but knew I couldn't afford it so I asked them to replaced the 2 which were damaged. About 2 hours later I need a new engine. He got annoyed with me because I didn't answer my phone, at work, and I called after business hour. I didn't like the offer they made on my car so i told them not to fix it and have it towed to my house. They towed it two days later with all the engine parts still in my car. They never put the engine back together and just left the oily parts in my car to sit. I called them upset and they told me if I refused it being fixed they don't have to put it back together, but if I want them to they will charge me for it. Who doesn't put the car back the way it was given to them. Even if it is not their responsibility to put your car back together, who doesn't ask if you want them to or not. They are a sham and if you can help it, do not go to them ever. My whole family has stop going to them.

customer stopped in the engine was misfiring on only 1 cylinder #5 replaced the ignition coil in question. vehicle ran good about 10 days later she came back with a no start situation engine would not start found # 1 & 3 cylinders had no compression explained to customer possible head gasket problem she had authorized removal of right bank cylinder head $900 to $1200 depending if cylinder head needed replacing upon removal of cylinder head the tops of the pistons were damaged from a lean (fuel) condition had no way of knowing this until cylinder head was off i even have pictures explained to customer that she was going to have more repaires poss a new engine and she declined like no big deal im going to trade in the car.we charged her like $300 with towing to our shop and back home and removal of cylinder head a very fair price!!!!and she was also fine with that..... everything was fine until she realized the engines cylinder head was not going to be reinstalled she thought the vehicle would be put back togather for that price. and here's when the problem started. i explained to her there is absolutely no reason to put vehicle back togather that the next person would just have to take it apart again, and the cost would be more to put cylinder head back togather on vehicle that will not run anyways, is completely senselss but i think what she was looking at trade in value and to possible deceive the dealership or even the next person that purchased the vehicle from her? i had no problem putting vehicle back togather for a price so as you can see there are 2 sides to the story facts customer was completly happy until she realized the price she paid us did not include vehicle put back togather she went from $900+ to $300 including 2 tows thats not bad so why all the slander yes it is very unfortunate that the customer has engine problems thats not our fault i quess the best way to go about it is blame the next guy and make them look bad so other people see this !! so im telling you we always fix cars properly with a 1 year warranty stop by and you will see for your self or call 586 771 1131 ask for rob

DO NOT USE MAXX Towing or "MAXX Auto Repair"

I am so disappointed that I tried to use a local shop and was burned like that. They have incompetent people and do not care about damaging your vehicle either. It seems that once the electrical switch was finally diagnosed, they "discovered" transmission problems that I never had before. I took it to a trans shop and they said there is no problem.

I don't think they have any equipment or(computer?) that can diagnose a problem, so they trial and error until u are broke. Stay away

claimed iconBusiness Response10/09/2010

too whom it may concern maxx auto shop has the most recent computer software and diagnostic equipment are our people are all very professional and very competent we have no record of a mr john waters in our system i do recall a gentlemen stopping in for a driveabilaty problem twords the end of the day near closing time courtesy to the customer we explained we were closing soon so @ no charge to the customer we scanned the vehicle and found several codes and explained we could not give a proper diagnostics at this time due to we would need the vehicle to properly diagnose the vehicle to either bring it back the next day or leave the vehicle with us note this same person wrote a bad review about some one in grand rapids about some off the wall hearsay please allow proper time for diagnostics at your next visit where ever you may go thank you

About 6 months ago my vehicle a 2000 ford focus had an ingition problem. They guys at MAXX towing came out, they were all very nice, professional and courtious to me, they fixed my vehicle the same day. Recently over memorial day weekend there was coolant leaking all over the place. I have roadside asst from allstate and they were no help. I wanted my car towed and serviced by MAXX becuase they were so nice before. I called the man at MAXX, explained after an hr with allstate I was getting nowhere, the gentleman said, I will come get you myself. Again, the men that work there are so nice,

understanding, professional and courtious. They fixed my ccar within a day, there was a delay becuase of the holiday, but there pricing is reasonable, and they are great to deal with. I would certianly recommend them anyone.

Shady Business

I just called Max Towing to tow my car with a bad starter to get it fixed. I gave them my address, make of the car. They gave me a price for the tow. Once the car was at the location they tried to charge me more because it was a Lexus. I will never call them again for a tow.

claimed iconBusiness Response04/27/2010

pjw315 dont recall the situation how ever if you were given a price to repair your vehicle and the price changed once the vehicle had arrived it may have changed for several reasons. #1 you have a lexus customer may have given wrong engine size or build date these items will and could very well change the price. also if our supplier was unable to supply the part, in a timely fashion we may of had to change suppliers this also cold change pricing. im sure there was a simple explanation and everything could have been woked out. curious to know what you were quoted and how you ended up paying and why is it always the other guys fault.

Transmission Nightmare

Maxx also has a repair shop that does transmission work. I took my wife's car ( A "97" Saturn )there to have the transmission rebuilt. First after stating it would cost between $1100 and $1350 they charged $1710.We called to see if it was done and they said it was being test driven and to pick the car up. They also asked if we could please bring cash since the card machine was down. When we got there and paid ( He made sure he had the money first! ) we were told it wasn't done as they accidentally put a hole in the radiator ( the guy said he accidentally pushed something into it. He tried to make a joke and said " Of course I blamed the other mechanic! Ha ha ha! ) and it would be done Monday ( It was Friday ) My wife went back Saturday and another guy said the hole happened due to a bad valve body. He claimed it had to much pressure and it blew the seals right through the radiator! We finally got the car Wednesday after more B.S. Monday and Tuesday. After a little driving we realized it was leaking coolant and rattling. My wife took it back and they told her she was imagining things. She took it to someone else and were SHOWN were they did not screw in one whole side of the radiator. Also, the hole didn't line up ( The new guy had to drill new ones. He showed us that as well. ) so I figure they got the cheapest thing they could get their hands on. These guy's are hacks and crooks. I'll be filing a complaint with consumer protection and anyone else that will listen. I guess the price hike is pretty obvious to. We screw up and you pay for it. That should be their motto.

claimed iconBusiness Response04/23/2009

First and foremost we regreat you experinced a problem $1100 $1350 was a quote prior to removal of trans / dismantle trans needed a valve body extra item needed for proper shift the valve body, we recieved from california was bad putting out to much fluid pressure causing the o-ring on filter to blow out. Finally recieved the new one installed it o.k. shifts great also did not try to hide the fact that the original radiator got damaged accidentally. No charge was added. As far as the customer returning with a rattle and coolant leak we did not find any coolant leaks or rattling noises during test drive or inspection. vehicle checked out ok at that time. Note the radiator was purchased thru the manufacturer not a supplier so it was a direct fit for that vehicle and tech may have or missed something to properly bolt in radiator. When customer found out elsewhere what the problem was we would have been more than happy to repair or take care of problem. As far as the price increase, the price of the valve body was $500, actually if trans did not need the valve body, price would have been right around $1230 total. also while waiting for arrival of defective valve body to arrive, we also rush delivered valvebody!! Gina was very understanding she even claimed she had other transportation. We also on every transmission job we do we have a customer mandatory 20 day return policy to honor our 12,000 mile 12 month warranty parts and labor. For a complete transmission inspection. For proper shift performance, check for leaks, check fluid and condition and if check engine light is on. And if needed scan computer system. Neglect of this inspection voids all warranty. at no charge. We are in the service field. We even have implamented this program so any neglect would not be an issue on our part. In other word we our not trying to get out of any responsibility. we have been in buisness for aprox 20 years we do not supply cheap parts nor our we hachs or crooks, (so i figure like the customer figured) its just a misuderstanding on both our parts and or a lack of communication, that in the end would or could have been properly prevented if customer would have just called or just came back for the mandatory 20 day inspection instead of writting this B.S. however its a good thing the transmission is o.k. at this time. I wish this matter could have been resolved professionally. thank you concerned advocate at maxx auto
