Walmart Auto Care Centers

I recently needed some free moving boxes to help a relative move into her new home, so I stopped by the Ann Street Walmart to ask about free moving boxes. I asked a young woman ("J") about how to obtain free boxes from Walmart. (Although the young woman gave me permission to use her first name, I decided to only use one of her initials, "J," because the Internet can be both cruel and kind at the same time.)

"J" told me that all she had to do was notify a manager that a customer had requested some free boxes and all I had to do was show up the next morning between 6:00 to 6:30 a.m. That was it; no muss, no fuss. Since she hadn't written anything down and she appeared to be quite busy, I naturally assumed that she would go back to the task at hand and completely forget about telling the manager about my request for free boxes.

So, the next morning I almost decided to skip the drive to Walmart. I drove there anyway and to my great surprise "J" had indeed told the manager about my request for free boxes. While picking up the boxes, I actually told the manager that I would be writing a positive online review about my experience, and I even spoke with "J" a few days later to personally thank her for actually remembering to tell the manager about my request even though she had appeared to be quite busy when I'd initially stopped to ask her about the boxes. (When's the last time a young person actually did something that made you want to say "Thank you" to them in person or online?)
