Meridian Intelligent Systems

My small business hired Meridian to install one keyless lock system for our front door. The price tag was around $5k. The installation and activation was repeatedly delayed and my office manager had to spend unnecessary time following up and managing the process. Once it was finally installed, it didn’t function properly for months and Meridian kept giving us the runaround and passing blame onto their parts suppliers. For example, the door would mysteriously unlock at random hours in the night and we wouldn't know about the security breach until we arrived in the office the next morning.

The situation escalated, and one Monday morning my team was unable to enter our office - derailing their days and costing us valuable time. The lock was broken and it took over an hour to get a technician out. When I spoke with our account rep and the company's founder (Keir Masters, pictured here) about our dissatisfaction, Keir blamed everyone and refused to accept responsibility, provide corrective action or offer a solution. He said "I've never heard your name and I had no idea your suite was having issues." When in fact, we have over 200 email exchanges with Meridian over the span of 5 months, many of which Keir was cc'd on. His response, "I get hundreds of emails each day. I can't keep track of them all." When I made the decision and said we no longer wanted to work with Meridian, Keir hung up on me.

Under no circumstances would I recommend that a business work with Meridian. Not because the products they service and sell are faulty - but because their leadership is terrible and they refuse to make problems right.
