The Lake Worth public works department is responsible for a variety of public services for the residents of Lake Worth, Fla. The department s services include public building maintenance, the collection and disposal of refuse, lot mowing and clearing of city properties and rights-of-way, street construction and maintenance projects, street sweeping, manhole maintenance, storm drain cleaning, storm water management, traffic control, operation of the city s transit system, and the oversight of all city parks and cemeteries. In addition, the department responds to citizen complaints, analyzes information to identify operational improvement opportunities, develop public information programs and coordinate with other city departments to reduce operating costs.
