I adopted a puppy at the palm beach animal control and was given a certificate for a vet check up and went to the animal health care center. Worst mistake EVER. Dr Edward's if you can call her a doctor almost killed my puppy with her total incompetence. At my first visit she noticed my puppy had a runny nose and a bit of a pot belly told me to keep and eye on it. Two days later his runny nose got worse he stopped eating and was barley able to walk upstairs. I call we go back to "Dr Edwards" she says it's and upper respiratory infection and gives him and iv and some medicine. Next day Milo is even worse puking having accidents every few hours. I call back to tell them something serious is wrong. First they explain to me that my certificate is now up and any treatment is on me. Ok we go back to her office they do a stool sample and come back that he has parvovirus. They did stool samples at both the previous appointments. "Dr Edward's " now says it's going to cost over $900 to run all the tests needed to find the right treatment for him. She didn't even talk treatment yet. We explain that we don't have an extra $900 to spend right now. Her response was then we need to talk euthanizing him. Extremely upset we leave with our extremely sick puppy. Lucky we call the shelter explain to them what happen and they recommended we go to the Justin Bartlett anima hospital. We rush Milo their and the front desk person just by looking at our puppy says parvovirus and rushes us to a team of two vet techs and to DR Woon. They explain everything that would need to be done and gave us an option of giving him medication at home along with iv treatments. The total cost for the emergency visit and the treatment $300! Every dog owner vet tech and dog lover I know is apalled by my experience at your office. I wouldn't send my goldfish to "Dr. Edwards." Shame on her because Milo is now or of the danger zone. No runny nose, eating foods a

I have brought both of my rescue cats here and had positive experiences. Most recently, I brought my cat in for her rabies shot and tag renewal. They asked if I wanted any other vaccinations and I declined and explained that she was an indoor only cat and I didn't believe in pumping her full of things unless I felt she needed them. They were not pushy about doing more than I asked like some other vets I've been to, and I appreciate that. The vet, techs and receptionists were all kind, compassionate and friendly. I would definitely recommend this office!

If you want to be spoken to in a rude, dismissive, condescending manner and treated like a number at a place that couldn’t care less about your pet, then you’ve hit the jackpot with this place!

In December, my puppy was spayed here. Yesterday, about three months after the procedure, I noticed a red lump where the incision was. My puppy squirmed when I touched it, so I decided to take a better-safe-than-sorry approach and make an appointment with the vet. I called and they scheduled me an appointment for today at 11:20 a.m.

When I walked in just before my appointment time, Erin, the receptionist, and Amber, the Vet Tech, were sitting at the reception desk. They were flippant and unapologetic when they informed me that they had no appointment for me on the computer, and even though there was absolutely nobody in the waiting area, and clearly no other 11:20 appointment, they neither offered to look at my puppy’s belly nor offer me a new appointment. After a couple awkward silences and near-berating remarks about my appointment being cancelled (not by me and not to my knowledge), I told them I would go and find another vet. They remained silent as I walked out the door…completely apathetic about losing a loyal and long-term client.

As I drove home, I became more and more upset as I replayed the incident in my mind, so I called them and explained how upset I was and told them that I deserved an explanation. The more the conversation went on, the more rude, sarcastic and acerbic Erin, the receptionist became. The closest I got to any kind of apology was an insincere, mocking, “Well, I’m sorry you feel that way.” When I asked for a new appointment, she dismissed me and passed the phone on to someone else. At that point, I decided 100% it was time for a new vet.

I got my puppy an appointment with another vet and I called the Animal Heathcare Center back and Erin answered again. I asked for my puppy’s records to be sent to her new vet and provided the fax number and vet’s name. Three hours later, at my puppy’s new appointment, the records had not been sent. It took the new vet’s office calling them and asking for them before the records were finally faxed over. I’m assuming that was a final F.U. to me from Erin.

I could never, in good conscience, recommend the Animal Heathcare Center to anybody who values their pet and/or being treated with any modicum of respect and kindness by Erin, their receptionist.
