MUST READ BEFORE HIRING FOR SERVICE!!! I had hired Critter Control of Seattle to take care of an issue I was having with squirrels in my attic. I had Tino come out initially to do an inspection and setup traps and quote the work that would need to be done to keep the squirrels out. I initially thought he did a good job, although the quote I received was extremely expensive, and seemed to have alot more then I expected that would need to be done. Due to it taking longer then I expected I had then send me the proposal so I could go over it with my husband. Going over the proposal with my husband we had a few questions about what some of the proposed items were and why they needed to be done. Since we caught a squirrel soon after the traps were set, I decided to ask the technician that came to get the squirrel about some of the things on the proposal. Tino was not the person who came to get the squirrel, and when I had stopped them to ask about the proposal, the answers I received were shocking, and something I would never have expected to get from their own employee. When I showed the new person the proposal, he informed me that he would take a look at them for me since he hasn't seen them and tell me what was wrong. He informed me that there was no opening in my facia board, and no need for it to be done, although Tino told me that there was over 100 ft that had to be done to keep them out and how it was wide open. He also told me only 1 of the 6 eaves was open, that all of my fan vents already had screen behind them and didn't need covers, and that there was no signs of rat or mouse evidence anywhere and therefore no need for bait stations that were proposed. With all of the information the tech provided I have been informed that there was over $3000 worth of reinforcement work that didn't need to be done at all. When I asked the tech why he would bid it all if it wasn't needed, I was informed that Tino always recommends work that doesn't need to be done to get more commission off each job, and that he will actually charge double, sometimes triple the original cost of a repair to make sure the cost goes over the minimum requirements for him to make money off of it, and that because of this the owners always send him because he knows how to talk people into spending way more then is needed on work that doesn't need to be done so that they make more money. I was also informed that although they have a warranty on their work, that the tech has seen multiple occasions that animals got through their work, or got back in because something that was paid for wasn't done, but since most people won't go on their roofs to check the work themselves, they will tell then it made a new opening in something that wasn't done by then or paid to be done so that they could charge all of their fees and reinforcements again, and that he had been told BY THE OWNERS DIRECTLY to not bother doing work that was bid and paid to be done because it was to difficult or in an area the home owner would never see. I was appalled by what I had been told by their own employee, and if their own employees are willing to tell me this. I don't even want to know what other kind of shady things that these people do. I will never use this company ever again, and won't be recommending them to anyone. I will make sure I spread the word everywhere so that everyone knows the truth before wasting their money to hire a company that is out to rip off their customers anywhere they can to bleed then for as much money as possible just to cut corners and be unwilling to honor their own warranties. THINK ABOUT IT! IF THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE ARE SAYING THESE THINGS DO YOU HONESTLY TRUST THAT IF YOU HIRE THEM THEY WILL BE HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY ENOUGH TO DO A GOOD JOB FOR YOU OR WILL THEY RIP YOU OFF LIKE THEY HAVE TO MANY OTHERS BEFORE YOU!!!

Overall

These people are crooks! What makes this even worse is I'm handicapped and they still took advantage of me and my family. They should be shut down. They wanted me to sign some sort of electronic device for their contract, but it wasn't working properly so I made the mistake of authorizing work without reading the fine print. I later found multiple charges on my bank account that were not authorized. They kept the information from my initial charge and used it later.



When I demanded my money back, the owner Karen made all kinds of excuses for the charges. She asked me if I was a business owner and implied that the only way I'd understand was if I owned a business. She had her supervisor Mike call and harass me. He was even worse, yelling at me and "telling me what I was going to do."



I won't even get into how they dropped my wife's clothing down into the crawl space from the entrance in her closet. Do yourself a huge favor and move on down the list to find a reputable company. THIS PLACE IS ANYTHING BUT REPUTABLE!!!
