Criminal Defense
Mr. Stephen A. Brown is a lifelong resident of Northport and East Northport. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1987. After four years as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County, where he honed his skills as a trial attorney, Mr. Brown spent the next ten years as a Senior Trial Attorney for Travelers Insurance and Zurich Insurance Company. In 2000, he opened his own practice in order to practice in other areas to better serve his clients. Since the opening of his office Mr. Brown has expanded the scope of his practice from criminal law and personal injury to estate planning, wills, probate, real estate, both commercial and residential, business, including incorporations, business litigation and guardianship law. Until 2006, Mr. Brown was an Assistant Huntington Town Attorney defending the town against negligence claims. In February of 2011, Mr. Brown was appointed as an Assistant County Attorney and Special Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County handling the prosecution of vehicle and traffic violations.
