Emergency Care
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet’s life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If possible, but not necessary, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Infectious Diseases
SNAP tests: point-of-care “snap” tests are available for certain infectious diseases such as Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, Canine Parvovirus, Giardia, and Leptospirosis.

Regular physical examinations, core and elective vaccinations, fecal testing for parasites, and deworming are all important elements of ensuring good health for your puppy or kitten. Our knowledgeable staff can help your family learn about potty training your pup, performing nail trims on your puppy or kitten, dietary recommendations, and potential health hazards for your new pet.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Hawksford is a 1987 graduate of UW-River Falls and a 1992 graduate of UW-Madison Veterinary School. He has owned and operated Hudson Pet Hospital since April of 2008. Eric has been practicing veterinary medicine in Wisconsin and Minnesota for 30+ years, focusing mainly on small animals. Eric has a special interest in internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and allergy issues. He has 17+ years of experience in emergency medicine. He and his wife live in Hudson.
Endoscopy

Ultrasound
Imaging such as x-rays or ultrasound, which allows diagnosis of conditions of the heart and lungs, gastrointestinal obstruction, tumors of the internal organs or bones, fluid in the chest or abdominal cavity, urinary stones or gallstones, reproductive diseases, and bone/joint disorders. For most patients, gentle restraint can be used for these procedures, however, in some cases, sedation may be necessary.
