DUI/DWI Defense: It is especially important that you contact an attorney as soon as possible after you have been charged with a DUI/DWI in the State of Texas. There may be a 15 day deadline in effect regarding your ability to challenge the suspension of your drivers license. If your case qualifies for a Pre-trial Diversion you may have only sixty days to make the decision to plea to it and will need an attorney to take such a plea bargain. The HGN or eye test that was given to you, does not establish that you were intoxicated. The breath test result, if you took one, may not be accurate. The State of Texas utilizes the Intoxilyzer 5000, which uses infra-red technology not to measure your blood, but instead the presence of particles in your breath. However, certain other particles, such as acetone, can possibly can throw off this result. If you were instead administered the portable breath test at the scene, that result is most likely inadmissible. The blood test, may have required a warrant pursuant to the United States Supreme Court decision in Missouri vs. McNeely. Without said warrant the blood test may be inadmissible.         Throughout my case Alex always communicated with me. He always kept me informed as to what would/wouldn't happen with my case. He worked with me on payments which a lot of lawyers do not do. He was never too busy to take my calls and return my calls if they were missed. Professional with a lot of experience. I am happy with the outcome I received because of Alex!

        One word AWESOME!!!! If you want honesty, someone who listens. This is your man! He helped me through a situation, that I had and I was very impressed on his handling of my case. Very honest and does what is right for his client. He returns your phone calls unlike other Atty's that each call is money that is being charged to you acct. OVERALL experience with this Atty is above and beyond my expectation

        I would highly recommend The Defreitas Firm to everyone and it will be the one I call if I ever need another attorney. I was really at a loss of how to proceed after I was being sued and everything involved with the legal process. Alex is a great example of an attorney that puts his clients first. He is very knowledgeable, straight forward and honest. This was a very stressful time. I felt like Alex was my friend as well as doing his job responsively. He was well prepared, confident, and kept me informed during the entire case. He took his time to explain and answer all of my questions with extreme response time. Despite all the obstacles along the way, Alex deftly navigated each one of them. I will be forever grateful to him for taking and handling my case. I was quite pleased with the final settlement.

        Very professional lawyer,i was facing 2nd dwi and alex never doubted our ability to win our case. He always kept me informed and worked around my schedule. I was ready to plea and just get the case over i was very frustrated with this case but he never took the easy way out. We won our case and it was dismissed, i pass his number to all my friends and highly recommend his services.
