Henry D. Ward Elementary School, founded in 1995 and located in Richmond, Va., is affiliated with the Henrico County Public Schools. The school offers a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 400 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers various programs, including English, arts, science, social studies, mathematics and physical education. Henry D. Ward Elementary School also provides Head Start, gifted, special education, music and technology programs. The school s staff also includes psychologists, and social work, guidance and resource counselors. It also implements the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. Henry D. Ward Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that focuses on increasing awareness and participation in curriculum and policy development, by enhancing communication between home and school
