Edward Brown, doing business as, Heritage Roofing, LLC sued us for the unpaid balance of $1,016 on a contract for repair of our garage.



As stated in the "OPINION AND ORDER at a Session of the Court in the City of Grosse Pointe Farms, County of Wayne, State of Michigan on 08/04/2015", we alleged 'numerous defects in the work including failure to replace defective/rotten roof boards, large gaps and jagged holes between roof boards, no cross ties, improperly installed gutters, and misaligned shingles. [We] also provided photographs to support [our] position.'



The presiding judge writes, "THE COURT is of the opinion that [we] had the right to withhold final payment until the defects in workmanship were corrected. Contrary to Plaintiff's position, [we] made Plaintiff aware of the problems but Plaintiff was unwilling or unable to remedy them. Plaintiff has not sustained his burden of proof by the preponderance of the evidence, and, therefore, THE COURT is entering a verdict of No Cause of Action."



Needless to say, we would NEVER recommend this business to anyone.
