I usually work with Kyle (who is a fantastic, creative stylist), but this appointment our schedules didn't match. Kristen did a cut and color on me and she did a wonderful job. Love a salon with multiple, versatile stylists! In addition the remodel of the salon looks fantastic! Great experience every time.

The owner was having a contest and picking 3 ladies to get a make-over for their hair for the holidays. I of course was picked and was really excited to get a hair make-over. The owner e-mailed me what she was planning on doing and I was all game for it. When I showed up and she told me her plan that she was going to do this new technique called "cardboard highlighting" and then adding long layers and adding shape around my face. As she was doing the highlighting she mentioned to another hairdresser that she hasn't had much practice doing this new technique. When I saw the end result I was a little down cause my hair was shorter then she said she would cut it as before she started anything we discussed I wanted to keep it long as I was getting married in 3 months. When I got home and washed my hair, I noticed there was streaks going straight across my hair in the front and the highlights were messy and uneven. I had e-mailed the owner Ashley and mention how I felt and my concerns and the responds I got was not what I expected from a owner. She told me it was a free make-over and was for her "creative freedom and do what she wants" and then says that she didn't make a mistake with the streaks and it was her "intention". Now I have 3 months left until my wedding and hoping that my hair grows back and waiting to get the mistakes fixed.

I’m doing a really long over due review of Salon Alexander.. I didn’t know how to quite express my dissatisfaction and still try and make it tasteful but now I’m at the point where I don’t really care.. I first heard about Salon Alexander from the hair show that the owner, Ashley Stone was on “hair battle spectacular” or something like that.. I became obsessed with the avant gaurde fashion and just HAD to go to that salon.



First off, upon walking in- it’s a complete aisle of Target! Nothing special, no personal touches, literally I could point to everything that was purchased at Target.. Because I myself am a Target addict but in a salon? Come on.. but more effort into it than that.



The mood of the salon is so monotone, so structured.. there was only one stylist that actually took the time to greet me, listen to me and give me the end result that I craved.. but surprise, surprise she no longer works there much to my dismay. I have had different appointments with 3 separate stylists, including the owner Ashley before staying with my old stylist that no longer works there.. I was expecting a miracle after hearing all about Ashley’s work and her background.. but that was all heresy, after going to her I really began to dig deep and she’s at best an average stylist who just happens to own her own salon.. which anyone can do- if you save up enough or get a nice bank loan. I have never met someone so self absorbed such as Ashley.. she never listened to what kind of highlights I wanted, she never asked how my day was ( I mean being a stylist MEANS small talk that’s just what you do) NOTHING. I even signed my credit card slip and I didn’t get a THANK YOU only a “have a good day”! You can tell that she really only cares about money and her looks.. the way she would talk to her staff was UNEXCUSEABLE I always felt so bad for them. I have at least 30 years on this young woman.. so I suppose I have to remember she’s a young lady that really doesn’t understand the ins and outs of owning a business. There has to be a course on customer service somewhere.. She talks a big game but her performance does not add up. She also recently won the RAW award for Best Stylist for 2012 but she won by default because she was the only one to show up!



Please save your money (and believe me it IS expensive) and shop around elsewhere.. I wish I did.. now that I found out where my old stylist is I will be sure to follow- as I know this was a review based on my experience of Salon Alexander and it was a one sided review as it was mostly geared towards the owner, but I believe she “is” Salon Alexander and she has a lot of lessons to learn- it’s not all about you, and treat others how you would want to be treated. I hope nobody else has to experience my horror.

This salon is wonderful! I started going here after following Kyle on Instgram and seeing his amazing balayage transformations. I haven't looked back since. They are super nice and funny with great customer service. It's clean and quiet. They recently just gave the salon a face lift and it looks great-it shows they are always trying to improve their business. Not to mention their hair products are phenomenal. I use the 'Nourish' shampoo and conditioner and i can truly say I've seen a big difference in my hair. Full endorsement here!

Salon is gorgeous and top notch!! Kellie is the hairdresser I've been looking for, for years! She's a perfectionist and really aims to exceed her client's desires which she always does! What I also really like about this salon is that hairdressers are NOT over booked handling multiple clients at once like so many others.

Great atmosphere, always on time, always professional & friendly. I have really thick wavy hair and Kyle knows exactly how to cut it. I'm extremely happy with Salon Alexander and you will not be disappointed!

I started seeing the owner when she first started her business of her own in new Britain she coincidentally had her salon next door to where I lived for years then my friend had such a nice cut I asked her for a reference to her from then on I was always amazed by her work I kept seeing Ashley there after even after she moved location 2 more times still following her even if took me 30m to get there rather then a door away from me .. obviously she was amazing at her job or I would not be driving so far to get her to cut my hair then I also had another member of her staff cut me Kyle which always did my blow dry (better than ashley) sorry but I did love her style then was more convenient to get appointment with Kyle and let him do my cuts which always came out great kyle is so gentle that I fall asleep to his touch he does not let one hair snarl or break while doing my hair he is a perfectionist like ashley they are much alike to my honest opinion I love them :)

Love Salon Alexander! I have very thick hair and Kyle knows exactly how to cut it. Salon Alexander has raised the bar for their competitors. Hands down the BEST salon in the area! You will not be disappointed.

Staff is amazing for routine services, beautiful spa like comfortable area, and THE BEST bridal team. And reasonable pricing to boot. I love my salon!

Customer since 2007 with beauty Entourage and ive been following Ashley since! The entire team is worth the extra miles in driving time for the few times a year I need a great haircut. First time in the new Farmington location and it's beautiful. Book with these guys, you won't be disappointed. The owner is so personally vested in the survival of the company that the end consumer is guaranteed a near flawless experience! First time here on June 27th! I have long thick naturally dark brown hair, and wanted to go ombre blonde for the summer. Ashley did an OUTSTANDING job lightening my hair, and even went back to tone it down after starting to blow dry. She made sure I walked out with the caramel color I wanted instead of being platinum!

Tried this salon for the first time today. I was made to feel welcome, got a beautiful haircut, and will definitely be back. I'm usually terrible at explaining what I want, and a little indecisive as well. Olivia listened to me, helped me decide and then gave me a gorgeous cut!

I have been a customer of Salon Alexander and Beauty Entourage since 2007, and for good reason. As I am sure all people are, I am very particular about my hair and want the person doing it to understand what I am looking for and then to deliver that vision. Ashley has done this time and time again. I travel a good distance to get my hair cut and colored which I would only do if I got the best service possible. I also used Beauty Entourage for my wedding in 2008 and was blown away by their work not just with me but with the other girls in my wedding party who never had a trial. I highly recommend the salon and their traveling wedding beauty team.
