Yellow Jacket Hot Dogs

This is one of my favorite places. But they have changed their vender for their hot dogs. I know this after talking to a young man that worked there . Please go back to the good ones. These are bland.

I've seen this place for a while read some reviews, and thought I wld pop in. Got my food in a timely manner, decorum was, hello yellow jacket themed. Ok I ordered a chilli cheese hot dog, with a side of onion rings. The hot dog was bland, the chilli made it a little better. The onion rings was good. I'd buy them again. The hot dog eeeh I can leave. It was decent.

We have enjoyed the Yellow Jacket for years. Food is great ans atmosphere freindly. You can sit and have fun with family and friends or have a quiet meal while watching the news or a ballgame. Keep up the good work guys!!!

The hot dogs served at the Ellenwood location are good and similar to the one's that were served at the original Yellow Jacket Inn on North Avenue located the other side of the Tech campus from the Varsity. But they don't compare with the one's served at The Barbecue House on Thornton Road located about a mile north of I-20. These have been served for almost 40 years and with the help and blessings of the former owner of the Yellow Jacket Inn.



I have always preferred the Yellow Jacket dogs over the Varsity. Frank Gordy owned both locations once starting with the Inn. Later he moved to a new restaurant up the road and another man bought the Inn and served his own hot dog masterpiece.



Anyone that has not eaten at both locations need to try them both and compare.
