Luen Hop Chinese Restaurant

Great food at a great price. Would highly recommend to anyone.....

We have lived in East Hartford for over 30 years and the only great restaurant in this town is by far Luen Hop Restaurant for chinese .My son moved to Vernon and travels back to East Hartford just to pick up the best chinese food in CT as well as his friends.They are very clean,fast and have very good quality of fresh food cooked as only they can do it.My only fear is that we will lose them with all this rebuilding going on around them,if any thing the town should honer them by giving them a prim location in town.Thank you Luen Hop for all your years of providing excellent and friendly service to our family and town,we wish you many more years in continued success.The Pelletier Family.

Yes, it's just a basic Chinese restaurant - but it's absolutely perfect at what it is. First off, the restaurant is extremely clean and I always see someone in the back on a ladder or stool cleaning off some hard-to-reach spot on the wall or air vents. (Not over the food, of course!) You can even watch the Chef cook, a rarity in small Chinese restaurants around here. They prepare nearly all orders as fresh as possible - you won't get some chicken or fried rice that has been sitting for hours. The food all has distinct flavors and you won't end up with fried rice that tastes like Egg Rolls and General Tso's Chicken that tastes like BBQ Pork like other restaurants I've been to. It's also not as greasy as a lot of the Chinese I've had locally and everything is really crisp and not soggy. The prices are excellent, as well, and they have cheap dinner/lunch combos that are huge portions for little money.

this place is the best! sick with their specials and you cant go wrong! It's al good and at a fair price!
