Better Homes & Bargains

Better Homes and Bargains is a reputable business run by an immensely talented mother/daughter team. Tracy made all of the window treatments in my old house, as well as my master bedding, and two amazing slip-covers that make the chairs appear to be upholstered. Now I am in a new house, and Better Homes and Bargains is again doing the window treatments and upholstery. I am a perfectionist and expect everything to be just so. Tracy is absolutely compulsive about every detail. When she is done, your curtains will look exquisite and hang right. A portion of her business is re-making other people's botches! Because she is absolutely OCD about her work, things sometimes, not always, take longer than anticipated. Trust me, it is worth the wait! It is absurd to call her a liar or unfriendly. She is honest and very personable. She will work with you on design and fabric selection so that your project comes out polished and professional looking. If you demand that things be done as well as they can be done, then this is the shop for you.

I would have to say that Better Homes and Bargains is very good at upholstery and curtains. On the other hand, the customer service is one of the worst I have experienced. I was told my stuff would be ready withing 4-6 weeks. After 10 weeks with no word from them, I called to see if my stuff was done. The woman on the phone said she did not know and they would give me a call back. 5 more days went by and still no call back. I called again and was told my stuff would be done that Friday. Friday comes around and I call one more time before I head over there to pick up my stuff. Of course, my stuff was still not ready, there was always some excuse as to why. After 13 weeks of waiting, I was finally able to pick up my stuff. I would never use them again based on the dishonesty and long wait time. If you like being lied to and don't mind waiting for a very long time, than this is the place for you. I was happy with the work they provided, but not so much with the unfriendly service.
