        Food's good but staff is short

        I don't mean short as in "not tall." I mean short as in "they need at least 2 more people working on any given day to get the customers taken care of." I know these places are all sensitive to costs, but if I walk out because I can't get waited on, that's money that goes somewhere else. Having said that, I really like Perkin's menu--the breakfasts, the open-faced hot roast beef, the big salads, the muffins, etc. If you don't mind slow service, it's a good chain.
