The Air Pollution Control Division is a public agency that is engaged in the improvement of air quality. It develops air quality attainment and maintenance plans in compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The division additionally evaluates and manages air permits for stationary sources in Colorado. It offers a range of programs to determine compliance with air regulations and permit conditions, as well as maintains a computerized inventory of air pollution emissions throughout the state. The division also provides information related to climate change, asbestos, fire, lead, mercury, toxics and ozone depleting compounds. The Air Pollution Control Division offers technical assistance, inspection, regulatory law enforcement, program support, and air permitting and certification services. It is a division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, which operates consumer protection and water quality control divisions.
