Medical Weight Loss
Sagging abdominal skin, fat, and muscle can be the result of pregnancy or substantial weight loss. Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a “tummy tuck” is a surgical procedure to correct a protruding or loose, sagging abdomen. It can sculpt the lower abdomen and tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. It does produce a permanent scar which, in many cases, can extend from hip to hip and around the umbilicus.
Primary Care
A: No. Our office does not require a referral for an appointment. If you have an HMO with your insurance company it will require a referral. Just have your primary care provider call our office to schedule so that we can obtain the information needed to process your claim.

Reginald R. Sherrill, M.D. is Medical Director of Dalton Plastic Surgery. He has been in solo practice in Dalton since 1982. A graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1977, Dr. Sherrill went on to a General Surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. After completing three years in General Surgery, he transferred to Wright State University Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio for his Plastic Surgery residency. He completed his training in 1982.

Mohs Surgery
A: No. Mohs surgery is only needed in specific cases. Most cases can be treated without Mohs surgery. If your condition requires Mohs surgery, the physician may refer you to a Mohs surgeon for treatment. Dr. Sherrill does provide surgical procedures with rapid frozen sections. This process is similar to Mohs and allows for microscopic evaluation of the tissue specimen during the surgery. This is only done if needed, and it is coordinated with the local hospital pathologists.

Botox
Have your youthful facial expressions turned into wrinkles? BOTOX cosmetic may be the answer. BOTOX is the most common non-surgical rejuvenatory procedure. It can help prevent wrinkles from forming if used early in the aging process. BOTOX is an injectable medication that reduces or prevents movement of the muscles that cause facial wrinkling due to repetitive movement. By relaxing these muscles, patients can achieve a more youthful appearance. Although BOTOX is not permanent, it lasts an average of 3-6 months. The length of time varies for each individual. BOTOX is primarily used in the upper third of the face. Forehead lines, frown lines (between the eyebrows), and lines around the eyes (crow’s feet), respond favorably to BOTOX. Eyelid Surgery

Liposuction
Liposuction is the process of body contouring by removing localized or regional excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately, enhancing your self image.
Breast Augmentation
Breast Augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, enhances the body contour of a woman who is unhappy with her breast size. This procedure can also correct a decrease in breast volume after pregnancy or balance a difference in breast size. In certain cases where the breasts have sagging or droopiness, a simultaneous breast lift may be necessary. Adult women of any age can benefit from breast augmentation.
Breast Reduction
Breast Reduction is designed for women who suffer from overly large breasts. Back and neck pain are some of the many symptoms of large breasts. The rubbing motion of the breasts against the chest can cause skin irritation and additional weight can make shoulders sore and bra straps painful. The procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The goal is to give the woman smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.
Breast Lift
Over the years breasts can lose their shape and firmness due to pregnancy, nursing, weight fluctuations and gravity. A breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes the areola (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) has become enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift rejuvenates the female figure with a breast profile that is more youthful, uplifted and firm.
Rhinoplasty
For patients dissatisfied with the size or shape of their nose, a rhinoplasty can be performed for reshaping purposes. In cases where there is some associated breathing obstruction, internal nasal surgery such as a septoplasty may need to be performed. A rhinoplasty often involves removal of a hump, refining a bulbous or thick tip, and narrowing a nose. This can improve the proportionality of the nose to other facial features and thereby create a more smooth and harmonious appearance.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction attempts to recreate a breast mound in women who have had their breasts altered or removed by breast cancer surgery. The goal is to rebuild a natural looking breast with symmetry to the other breast. Depending on the circumstances, breast reconstruction can be performed immediately after mastectomy or as a delayed procedure. It typically requires more than one operative procedure, with additional surgeries to optimize symmetry or rebuild a nipple areolar complex.

Face Lift
If you are bothered by the signs of aging in your face, a facelift may be right for you. In general, a facelift corrects sagging facial skin and muscles, removes excess fat and stores firmness to create a more youthful, rested and vibrant appearance. It is often done in combination with other procedures including a browlift or eyelid surgery to create an overall harmonious, youthful result.
Blepharoplasty
Age, sun exposure and hereditary factors all contribute to wrink.les, deep lines and puffiness around the eyes. This can create a tired and aged appearance. An eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, is designed to restore a more youthful and rested appearance to your eyes. It can also improve your scope of vision if you have excessive upper eyelid skin that interferes with vision. A blepharoplasty can involve the upper lids, the lower lids, or both.

Otoplasty
An otoplasty is done on prominent ears in order to set them back closer to the head or to decrease the size of large ears. Surgery can be done on adults as well as children, although children should typically wait until age 5 or 6 when the ear is fully developed. The procedure involves working on the cartilage that gives structure to the ear in order to correct ear prominence.

Gynecomastia, the condition of over-developed breast, is common in men of any age. It may be the result of hormonal changes, heredity, disease, or the use of certain drugs. Gynecomastia can be more than a physical problem – it can cause emotional discomfort and impair one’s self confidence. Some men may avoid certain physical activities and intimacy simply to hide their condition. It can be surgically treated by removing excess fat, glandular tissue and/or skin. The result is a better proportioned, more masculine contoured upper body and the freedom and self-confidence to lead an active life.
