Since new ownership things have not been as good as they once were. They have had the state called in instances where children were put in highchairs to sleep or in bouncy chairs to sleep even though the state mandates that they should be on a cot or crib. The AC has been not working for over a week in this Michigan heat, making the children overly warm and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this day care.

Both of my boys and my niece attend TTU and we truly love it! They have learned so much while they have been there. The teachers are absolutely amazing with them. My 4 yr old is a picky and slow eater and they always make sure he eats. That was a concern for me. My 2 yr old hated books at home and if I sang the “ABC’s” he lost interest. Since going there he sings to me and brings books for me to read to him. I have come in to secretly watch how he is at TTU compared to home and I couldn’t believe how well he listened, behaved, and followed directions. My sister has asked one of the teacher to watch her daughter after TTU closes (because she was stuck at work late) and the teacher gladly did. She was great with her, my niece (2yrs old) loved hanging out with her. The teacher took her to Target and even bought her a toy (my sister had no problem with her taking her out since she had a car seat and it was a last minute request). Whenever I had a concern I spoke to the teacher directly and the director. They always corrected any issues. No place is ever going to be perfect. I have been to other daycares when picking up my nephew and prior to using TTU, and not only do they cost more but they have their flaws as well. The difference I noticed is when I addressed an issue I didn’t feel like they were annoyed with me or that they took it out on my kids. On the contrary, I truly believe they love our kids and take the best care of them. I have recommended TTU to friends and family and will continue to recommend them. Oh, and when a teacher is not cut out to be there…they have fired them. I can appreciate that they want to keep good teachers on staff that want to teach and take care of our kids.

My oldest son has attended Tin...

My oldest son has attended Tiny Tot University for 2 years & my youngest has been there almost 9 months. I have never had a concern that didn't get addressed nor have I ever felt like I could not approach staff with concerns. My sons loves their teachers and look forward to going to learn and play. I'm so happy that my husband and I send our boys to tiny tot while we work. My husband and I are so grateful for the wonderful staff at TTU. The staff and owner are very understanding and easy to get ahold of. There has been a lot of change with staff which was handled very smoothly and did not affect the children. I highly recommend tiny tot university to anyone looking for daycare/preschool!!!!!!

I cannot even begin to express my undying gratitude and thanks to the staff at Tiny Tot University. Both of my children attended TTU, and while my daughter is now in second grade, my son remains at TTU. My children started attending TTU when they were young. The staff worked with the specific needs of my children and helped to create a warm, caring, and educational environment for my children. When my mother became ill with cancer, they worked with my constant schedule changes to accommodate the needs of my family during our time of need.

The staff at Tiny Tot are unlike other day care/preschool centers I have researched. They take time to prepare quality, invigorating lessons that are not only developmentally appropriate, but thoroughly enjoyable to the kids. Not only that, but they take the time to get to know each and every child while playing with them.

There is a new director as of 12/26/14 and though I did like the former director, I LOVE the current director. Ms. Chelsea has proven to love children with all of her being and couldn’t love them more if they were her very own. She works tirelessly to ensure that the children have a quality learning experience every day and even spends her evenings and weekends preparing for the events of the following week.

Meeting the demands of many different families is difficult. The staff at TTU goes out of their way to establish an environment that is very much an extension of home for each individual child. They differentiate and ensure that the needs, both physical and emotional, are not only met, but in a way that the children feel loved and thrive.

In the five years my children have attended, I have seen very few policy changes and those that were created were as a result of changes in state policy or were simply in the best interest and safety of the children.

Simply stated, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tiny Tot University as a day care/learning center to anyone that wants their child to be loved, to learn, and to flourish.

Awesome place..

My youngest daughter has been at Tiny Tot since she was 6 weeks old. Icannot express how wonderful they are there. The teachers are great...very loving and caring. They are my daughter's second mom. I cannot thank them enough for working through everything that we have run into with my daughter...sickness...They treat her like one of their own kids. And the girls there even babysit for me outside of dsycare. The center is awesome and I am glad that we chose Tiny Tot to watch my daughter while my husband and I work full time. Thank you Tiny Tot staff...every one of you...be it I'd you are still there or not. I am very grateful for you and all that you have done for my child...Love to you all...

Both of my boys attended TTU until they graduated preschool and went on to kindergarten. They were both less than one year old when they started. I loved every minute of their time at Tiny Tot and hated for them to leave. Our whole family had become very close with several of the teachers. I feel that they were loved and taken excellent care of. Each day when I dropped them off I felt very content and comfortable because I knew that they would learn and have fun throughout the day. TTU prepared my boys very well for kindergarten and both knew their letters and sounds when they left. Being a teacher, they were flexible and accommodated my breaks in the summer and during the school year which I greatly appreciated. The new director was a teacher while my boys were there and she was among their favorite. To this day, my boys (who are in 1st and 4th grade) still love going to Tiny Tot when they can and, honestly, I miss them going there too!

My son has been going to TTU since he was 10 weeks old and he is now in the preschool room. His older brother is a graduate of TTU and he started when he was 6 months old. We are so happy that we found TTU. The owner and her new director are deeply committed to the staff and the children. The school provides the children with educational experiences that prepare them for school and at the same time a warm, loving and nurturing "home” setting. TTU offers employees an educational scholarship to help them obtain the certification and continually improve their childcare skills. The teachers really make an effort to keep you informed about your children (challenges as well as successes). They have created structured themes that make learning fun. The kids look forward to the many extra parties and activities the school provides throughout the year. I have and continue to highly recommend this school to everyone.

The owner does not work on sit...

The owner does not work on site anymore and the new director doesn't continue the exceptional experience that previous parents use to talk about. Their policies change often with the new director, the staff are not aware of the changes. They started doing a snack time at 4:30pm. I assumed when kids are hungry they get to eat after lunch. The snack is small of either crackers or veggie straws and my16 month old son would still come home extremely hungry and frustrated. I spoke with one of the teachers about how veggie straws are not enough for him to satisfy his hunger. She said they can offer his dinner if I brought it. My schedule changed and twice a week I am not able to start dinner right at 6pm and remembered what the teacher said. After they gave my son his dinner twice, the director came to me saying they no longer will give dinner because it is not fair to the other kids and she said she talked to the owner of the facility. Then the next week, a kid in his class was being given dinner. I contacted the owner who I have not heard back from and I feel I was lied to by the director. My son is always hungry when I pick him up. I fill his sippy with milk every evening before we leave because he sucks it down to replace the hunger and they refuse to provide him more food provided by me to keep him happy. This week his oranges are removed from his lunch bag and not given to him, they are kept in the fridge. I placed a note in his lunch bag stating that he has oranges in the fridge and they don't use them. I have complained before about this to the teachers and it bothers me to send food and they don't use it, and I have to remove it after it has spoiled at the end of the week or longer if I didn't see it previously. Also when he has teething moments I provide teething tabs. When i see he is in pain I tell the teacher he has teething tabs and what to look for when hes painful. She told me she only believes in teething toys and not medications and she doesn't see how teething tabs help. I had to take things to the director just to make sure my son received teething tabs to sooth his pain. I was tired of being sent home seeing my son fussy and frustrated who didn't nap because of the pain and was acting fussy because of the pain but no body gave him teething tabs or his extra food to stop his hunger. Also, if you want a receipt for payment, they no longer place it in your child's cubby. I was told by the owner they would staple my receipt of payment to my son's daily sheet. I was not getting a receipt regularly before I talked with the owner personally. The rest of that week I still did not see a receipt as promised. I spoke with the teacher and asked her to sign the receipt I had from the bank so at least I had something for my finances. She pointed to the basket that was more then half filled with ALL the students of the school's receipts. I didn't know about the basket because ever since we started going there, they placed it in his cubby. I brought up how the owner said they would staple it and they said they have done that before but they now do the box on their desk by the entrance. The parents sift through it looking for theirs. Personally, I like to keep all of my financial business private and allowing other parents the ability to see what everyone else pays is a confidentiality issue. I doubt the owner would be comfortable with such practices. I truly wished she was around her business more and not overly wrapped up in her second business so it could be the way people use to praise it. My son has bonded with the other kids and none of the kids are biters or aggressive. I don't have to worry about my son learning bad behaviors while playing with the other kids.

Safe Hands

I was taking my son to a different daycare and he wasn't sleeping good and he was constantly getting sick. Since I have started bringing him to Tiny Tot he has shown great strides in development, he has not gotten sick once in 8 weeks and he sleeps at least an hour for each nap. The teachers at Tiny Tot are amazing. At his old daycare I would never see any of the teachers on the floor with him playing. Now, at Tiny Tot, almost everytime I walk in the room, someone is playing with him. As all mom's feel, I absolutley hate the fact that someone else is watching my son, however, I go to work everyday knowing that he is getting almost the same care as if he was home with me. I call everyday to check on my son and they are just wonderful when communicating everything. I would recommend to anyone.

Exceptional Experience!!!

My son has been at TTU since he was six weeks old. He is now 5 years old. He is the youngest of three (the oldest is 15)and we have been at several other daycares over the years.

We have loved our experience at TTU. The caregivers truly care for each child. The school provides the children with educational experiences that prepares them for school and at the same time a warm, loving and nurturing "home".

I have observed a very low employee turnover. I believe this helps create a safe feeling for the children. The owner is deeply commited to her staff. She even offers her employees a educational scholarship to help them obtain the certification and continually improve their childcare skills.

The teachers really make an effort to keep you informed about your children (challenges as well as successes). They have created structured themes that make learning fun. The school has "Computer Tots" for the preschoolers and the kids look forward to the many extra parties and activites the school provides throughout the year.

I would highly recommend this school to everyone.

We Love TTU

I have two children here. TTU is small enough to give our children the attention they need, yet all the experience and knowledge a larger center would have - and more. We love all the little extras like water day, bike day, pizza day, and free computer tots. We used to go to a large center and this has been a far better experience. Low teacher turnover, clean environment and wonderful staff!
