VERY expensive. The place is nicer inside than most doctors offices, but it is also pricier than any vet I've been to. Your paying for atmosphere, you can get the same quality care a lot cheaper at other clinics. High pressure to talk you into services weather your cat needs them or not.

Parasites Treatment and Control
Parasites can be spread though any number of ways and all start from ‘environmental’ sources. Even though indoor only cats live inside- they are still exposed to outside environmental influences. Owners travel in and out of the home, windows and screen doors are opened, and items can be brought in from other places. Intestinal parasites often can lay dormant for years without any clinical symptoms. Mosquitoes, fleas and even ticks can travel into your home through windows, doors or even on clothing. Intestinal parasite eggs can also be brought in on the bottom of shoes.

She is most passionate about providing all patients with proper preventative care, providing multi-modal pain management, and educating clients and other veterinary professionals. Giardia: Giardia is a one-celled organism that infects the small intestines of cats and many other mammals, including people. Many cases of giardia cause explosive, watery diarrhea, dehydration, weight loss and unkempt appearance. Once ingested, the infective cysts can appear in the feces 1 to 2 weeks after exposure. Most domestic animals contract giardia from drinking contaminated pond or stream water. Giardia can be treated with antibiotics.

Obesity predisposes these patients to a number of disease processes including diabetes, urinary tract disease, joint problems, fatty liver disease, non-allergic skin conditions, and inflammatory bowel disease. The way to help these cats maintain lean body mass and lose weight is to feed them high- protein, low-carbohydrate diets. In short, FEED THEM CANNED FOODS!
Upper Respiratory Illness Treatment
Heartworm is contracted when an infected mosquito bites a cat. The larvae enter through the mosquito bite wound where they develop in the tissues. The immature worms enter a blood vessel and are carried to the arteries in the lung where they cause an inflammatory reaction. This inflammatory reaction can cause cats to have respiratory problems such as difficulty breathing or coughing. Most worms die at this stage, causing even more inflammation and damaging vital lung tissue. Worms that do survive and progress to the adult stage may live undetected for years. When adult heartworms die, the inflammation can be severe enough to cause sudden death. The respiratory signs associated with these reactions are called Heartworm Associated Respiratory Disease (HARD).

Diabetes Treatment
Urine- Changes in urine production are important to note. If your cat is urinating very small amounts frequently could be a sign of bladder inflammation (cystitis), or a urinary tract infection. Urinating large amounts at a time could be a sign or symptom of feline diabetes or kidney disease. If you are uncertain if your cat is urinating at all this should be treated as an emergency and your cat should be seen by a veterinarian right away.
Thyroid Disease Treatment
Hyperthyroidism is the condition resulting from secretion of excess thyroid hormone. In cats, this usually results from adenomatous hyperplasia or adenoma (benign tumor) of the thyroid gland. Carcinoma (cancer) is a very rare cause of hyperthyroidism in cats.

Electronic monitoring of vital signs- a licensed veterinary technician will monitor pulse oximetry, blood pressure, ECG and heart rate throughout the entire procedure. These vital signs will be charted and documented in your cat’s medical file for future review and availability.

BUN- This is a normal waste product from protein metabolism. A high value can be a reflection of diet, hydration status, intestinal health or red blood cell destruction. An increase in this value is not ALWAYS conclusive of kidney disease.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
Bacterial plaques are the leading cause in the development of periodontal disease. The inflammation and destruction that accompanies periodontal disease results from the direct action of bacteria and their by-products on periodontal tissues as well as the indirect activation of the host immune response.
Cancer Treatment
Just like people, cats can get cancer. We are pleased to be able to offer chemotherapy to patients as a treatment for cancer. Most cats that are candidates for chemotherapy respond well to their treatments with very few of the negative side effects seen in human medicine. If your cat has been diagnosed with cancer, our veterinarians offer second opinion or referral care and treatment of your cat. There are various kinds of cancer that are manageable with the use of Chemotherapy and supportive medications. The goal of chemotherapy is always to extend your cat’s quality of life. Our veterinary staff is well equipped and trained to administer chemotherapy agents as well as educate owners on home care of these special feline patients.

FeLV infection occurs worldwide. FeLV is transmitted through casual contact such as mutual grooming, and sharing food/water bowls through saliva and nasal secretions or litter boxes through urine and feces. It can also be spread through bite wounds and to kittens through nursing.

Overnight patient recovery stay for most major and non-routine surgeries. Critical surgical cases are transferred to Advanced Animal Emergency (located directly behind us in the same parking lot) for round-the-clock monitoring.
Declawing
Declawing is considered to be an elective surgery and has been the topic of much controversy in recent years. In keeping with AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners), we strongly believe in NOT declawing and educating clients before they make the choice to declaw their kitten. We no longer perform declaws at our office.
Spaying and Neutering
Castration or Neutering of male kittens and cats to sterilize them and prevent unwanted litters of kittens. We recommend performing this surgery before 6 months of age, but if behavioral concerns are present this surgery may be performed earlier. Castration can be safely performed once the kitten weighs 4 pounds.

Laboratory Services
Pre-anesthetic blood work panel- we tailor our pre-anesthetic blood work panels to the age of your feline. The goal of doing blood work before surgery is to screen for underlying illnesses that could complicate general anesthesia. Your cat’s safety is always our top concern.

Grooming
Cats are such fastidious groomers that we recommend bathing only if they should “get into something”. Excess bathing can dry their skin and remove the natural oils from their coat. Cats with long hair should be combed or brushed on a daily basis to help prevent matting and clumping of the hair. Shorthaired cats should be brushed weekly with a fine-toothed comb or soft brush.
