Dr. Kathleen A Rheaume, MD

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Rheaume for years, and she is one of the most caring people I've known in the medical field. She really gets to know the patient personally so that the care can truly be individualized. I never hesitate to discuss anything with her. Am never rushed or made to feel like nothing but a number. And the staff has a great sense of humor! Who could ask for more.

I saw Dr.Rheaume as a new patient and was VERY disappointed. As soon as she came in and inroduced herself she began lecturing me (in front of her student) on why I should not have made an apt with her since I am pregnant and already seeing an OB. She stated that should be enough unless "I had the flu." I told her that I had not seen a general practitioner in several years and wanted to find one in the area. I had several non pregnancy related isssues I was concerned with. She asked why I would call in and say I wanted a physical then? Well I didn't know what else to call it! She made me feel like that was a very stupid idea. She also lectured me on how I had filled out the paperwork wrong. Within 5 minutes I was in tears and she said "You are not sick! You don't need to be upset!" I wanted to tell her that was NOT why I was upset but at that point all I could think about was getting out of there. I wanted to like this doc but it was one of the worst experiences of my life!!
