Vaccination
Canine Vaccination Schedule – vaccinations should be given every 3-4 weeks starting at 6 weeks of age and ending at 16 weeks of age. Please note that your pet is not fully immunized until they have had all of the following vaccines and boosters.
Nutritional Counseling
Some signs of parvo could be but are not limited to: lethargy, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite and vomiting. Parvo is a very serious virus that can eventually lead to death of your loved pet if not treated or taken care of. Animals become severely dehydrated and their body cannot supply them with the proper nutrients. Typically IV fluids for several days along with a wide spectrum of medications will help the animal to recover from the virus and they will be able to return home. Unfortunately, that is not the outcome for some dogs.
Comprehensive Examination
After the initial series of vaccinations, Distemper and Bordetella will be giving on a yearly basis along with a complete physical exam. The initial Rabies vaccination is good for 1 year; all other Rabies boosters will be good for 3 years. A heartworm test will be performed every other year for all pets on heartworm prevention. The initial heartworm test will be performed at 12 months of age.
