The Cellar

I've been here for lunch many times and it is very good. However, upon my first dinner experience at The Cellar, I was very disappointed. The dinner menu was very impressive as well as the presentation. The major downfall became two factors. The first, was the quality of the meal. In a large party with various orders, some appetizers were great others, but others were below par. Some entrees were very delicious - whereas others were disappointing. Dessert too was hit or miss. It is a place that I had liked in the past and was looking forward to again. The food was not so great, the service was mediocre and to top it off, the owner or manager (not sure which) asked if we could move to the bar a few minutes after paying our check (+$100 per couple) - mind you this is a BYOB - because another table had been waiting for 30 min +. This is my second compliant - We ordered immediately, waited for many minutes for each dish - app, entree and dessert. Dessert alone took an additional 15 minutes! Then an employee/owner/manager asked us to leave! After spending as much as we had, we felt the food was not worth the value and left feeling disrespected. It is a place that I held in fairly high regard based on previous experiences, but will not patronize again. I (as well as my party) will also not return. It may be worth the risk if you're visiting, but in my opinion, it would not be a place that I would recommend in the future to any good friends or out-of-towners.
