Jefferson Academy is a public charter school located in Broomfield, Colo. The academy offers a variety of academic, athletic and extracurricular programs to students in kindergarten through grade 12. Founded in 1994, it includes elementary, secondary and high schools. The academy has athletics department that offers various sports activities, including cross country, volleyball, golf, basketball, baseball and soccer. Its core curriculum includes science, Spanish language, computer science, history, English, math and physical education. Jefferson Academy also offers classes in drama, speech, band and art. Its library houses a variety of dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, reference materials, newspapers, magazines and online databases. The academy additionally provides special education programs for disabled students.
