The Department of Genetics and Genomics at Boston University utilizes the latest genome-era methods for analysis of cell function as well as classical genetic approaches using model organisms. Its projects range from association of human genetic variation with disease predisposition to structure-function studies of the fruit fly centromere and mathematical modeling of signaling pathways. The department s research takes advantage of the information resulting from the human genome project to fully understand biology and the molecular basis of human disease.
