I am a black educated (graduated from Howard University) female from NY and DC and have traveled all over this country and have never experienced anything like I had at Punchers. The atmosphere and music was good but the management and bouncers were obviously racist. I had no problem getting in the bar but my male friends did because the bouncer said that the management was telling him over the head peace not to let them in because of what they were wearing. My friends were not hoodlums of any kind. All college educated, well-dressed, and well spoken young men. They try to only let a few blacks in at a time. After I stood by I started watching other young white men enter with the same clothes as my friends. So I went back to the bouncer and said what was going on they are letting in others with the same attire (jean shorts, t-shirt, etc nothing baggy). I put on my girlish charm and said can they please let them in. Then all of a sudden they decided to have a heart. Anyway, We got in and bought 15 shots, 3 of those famous slushy drinks and four beers. We were told by the bouncer that if we didn't keep buying drinks that we had to leave. SMH, I have never been so pissed with an establishment in my life and I am in Hospitality as a Manager. I then went to complain and they tried to ignore the situation. So I told my friends we needed to leave because I didn't want to spend another dollar there or support that place anymore. We were the life of the party there anyway. Right when I was leaving I seen a African guy going through the same issues. He had on nice fitted pants and nice shoes and they still were giving him a hard time. I went to the guy and said Im sorry your experiencing this it happened to us too. I told the police outside and they said there use to hearing this and they can't do anything about it. REALLY? That night was soooo sad. Being from up North I had never experienced racism like this before. If you believe in equality don't support this place go next door or something. We all as people have to stand up to this foolishness. Love, Peace, and Blessings

This is the best bar ever! I have never had as much fun at a bar as I did last night. I found this place about a week ago and decided to go with my girlfriends to Ladies Night. If you have never been to Punchers you need to go. I was scared thinking it was a Jersey Shore bar, but that is the place above Punchers "The Office". Punchers is my new party spot Thusdays.
