General Info: Dr. Acosta received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1989. Following his internship in internal medicine, he completed a residency in neurology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also served as chief resident of the program from 1992 to 1993. After his residency, he was fellowship trained in neurovascular disease and stroke at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Acosta has an interest in general neurology, clinical neurophysiology and is trained in neurovascular ultrasound with a special interest in the treatment of stroke.
