Barrington Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. It offers academic programs in reading, language arts, mathematics and science. The school also offers classes in music, technology education, social studies, and health and physical education. Its media center provides access to the Internet and has a collection of books, catalogs, encyclopedias, newspapers and magazines. Barrington Middle School has an athletics department that offers various sports activities, such as cross country, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, softball and wrestling. It supports several clubs and organizations, including the National Honor Society, student council, and yearbook, art, chess, drama, band and orchestra clubs. In addition, the school offers a math program that includes exemplars, geometry topics and Illinois Standards Achievement Test preparation. Barrington Middle School is located in Barrington, Ill., and is a part of Barrington Community Unit School District 220.
