Shampoochie Pet Spa

We have been clients of Shampoochie Pet Spa for over nine years. All of our dogs enjoy their weekly visit to Shampoochie! The grooming is excellent-nails all trim, folds all clean and coats are shiny. Water bowls are abundant throughout the store and as I visit with the workers, dogs are constantly using the water bowls. (My dog still has a big drink when she gets home even after having a drink before leaving Shampoochie!) Since dogs are not crated, they are allowed to socialize-playing and chasing. When my dog had knee surgery, Shampoochie chose the best days in which to re-introduce her into the spa so she would most benefit-days that were not too active so her knee could regain strength while still being social. What is most beneficial is the knowledge the groomers bring to the business. We discuss different types of products, styles of training and determine the best methods for my dogs. We trust and rely on Shampoochie.

Should have read this earlier, much earlier. I have read all of the reviews. Yes, I would agree that the dogs get a good haircut. However, I have witnessed and experienced what has been said by both the past employee and the person indicating that her dogs were not walked or given water. I have also read on other sites, how rude the customer service is. Agreed. If you do not agree with what the owner is telling you, then there is no discussion. I have gone there for several years. I am taking my dogs somewhere else. I have an older dog, who has become very aggressive while being there and on the table. I have spoken to several groomers in the past few days. They certainly have their own ideas of what they think may have happened. Although no one can know for sure. Once I take my dogs elsewhere, I will write another review, indicating what happens.

As a former employee of this shop, I would recommend NOT bringing your pet here. I have witnessed the owner, on several occasions, grab a dog by the back of the neck and hang them off of the grooming table when they were acting up a little bit. She then screams in the dog's face, at the top of her lungs, "KNOCK IT OFF,,,, NOW"!!!!! You can literally see the fear in th poor animals eyes. She has an extremely bad temper and curses and insults her employees, which is why her repeat customers are constantly seeing new faces in the shop. I read the other review that stated that the owner told the customer that the animals were let out on leashes to use the bathroom several times throughout the day. This is a COMPLETE lie. They are not let out at all, but rather forced to use the bathroom on the floor inside the shop. Anyone who truly cares for their pet should take my advice and steer clear of this place. She also owns a pit-bull that she brings to the shop frequently, even though he has bitten several dogs, one of which required about 40 stitches to close the wound on its neck........ I gave this place a 1 star rating only becuase the computer required that i put something. In actuality this place deserves none....

After taking my puppy to two different groomers, I found Shampoochie. What a relief. The owner is truly a dog lover! The dog's are not crated but have the opportunity to run around and play while waited to be groomed. My dog can't wait to get into the door!

I had taken my pet here several times, but began feeling that I could find some place better, just a gut feeling though. Things I liked about it are the convenient location (close to home) and that the dogs were allowed to wander around the groomers feet (and not be in cages) after they were groomed. But, my pet started to really dread being brought there, and I've never seen her react like that to other places, even the vet. The only other thing that I didn't like was that my dog always had to pee immediately once she got outside, and then she was very thirsty when she got home. This inclined me to think that #1 - she was not being let out to pee during the time she was there (the owner says that all dogs are taken out of a leash to pee a couple of times if there all day) and #2 - that she was not being given water to drink during her time there. Since you are allowed to leave your dog there up to 8 hours, this was troubling to me. There may be other things going on that were causing my dog distress, but I may never know. I just trusted my gut and stopped taking her there. I did not find any issues with the actual grooming of my pet - her coat was clean and well brushed and her nails were clipped. Use your own judgment if you give them a try.
