Overall
Excellent Establishment

These two reviews written above are so wrong. They are an example of what is wrong with the internet. Anyone can spread false information no matter who it affects. This establishment is one of the best in Aurora. It actually has a great location - located off the 15th hole of Phillips Golf Course (which by the way is the single biggest piece of property that Aurora owns - and one of its most beautiful). The view of the golf course is awesome, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is to die for, there is always something to do - bags, sports on 20 HD tvs, karaoke, bands, barcathlons and the specials really help out in this bad economy. Maybe if these guys could spell they would make a little more sense - or maybe they need to go get jobs to pass there time. Review #1 definitely needs a dictionary and Review #2 needs to get his facts straight before being so rude to the employees.

STAY AWAY FROM O'Malley's bar

I PERCHED A CHEESE BEEF THAT TASTED LIKE IT HAD BEEN MAIRANATED IN SALT.THE HOT WINGS ARE GOOD SIZE,BUT THERE IS NO MEAT.SERVICE IS VERY SLOW,THE WASH ROOM DOORS YOU CAN TOUCH WHEN YOUR SITTING IN YOUR CHAIR AT THE BAR,SO WHEN THE LOCAL DRUNKS GO # 2 THE HOLE BAR AREA SMELLS LIKE.......IT IS LOCATED ACROSS FROM THE TRAILER PARK,SO ITS NOT HARD TO MISS!!!HAHA.THE NEW MANAGER IS RUDE AND OUT THERE.I TRIED TO TALK TO HIM & HIS DEMEANOR & VOCABULARY WAS SO POOR,I SAID FOR GET IT. THERE IS MUCH MUCH BETTER PLACES TO GO TO IN AURORA THAN O'Malley's Bar & Grill!!!

Overall
Shady Shady Place

This place was an extreme disappointment. To start off, the location is in the middle of nowhere, and when I walked in the door they wanted a $5 cover. My buddy walked in 10 minutes later and the door guy didn't charge him, not to mention the countless people I saw walk in during the 10 minutes that weren't charged. I confronted the doorman about the cover charge which had seemed suspicious all along and he told me that I could leave any time I wanted. He claimed to just be doing his job, and that he charged during the times that his boss told him to, which was apparently from 9:30 PM - 10:45 PM (Though I later found out that he had charged some other people at 9:00. He wasn't using a cash register or anything and the whole cover charged just seemed to be an extra way for him to make money.

So, I asked to speak to his boss, whom I was told was downstairs in the office, I asked him and one of the bartenders to go get him for me, and was merely told that he would be up shortly, which was another 10 minutes. (Keep in mind during all this that the bartender didn't even look at me while taking my drink order and poured me the wrong drink with the wrong liquor and mixer, and then tried to claim that I ordered it wrong).

So I finally talked to the manager/owner, not sure which and he explained that they don't normally charge their "regulars" the cover charge, I explained that my buddy wasn't a regular and no one bothered him....the whole thing was just shady. The bar was 90% regulars, seeing as how it was in the middle of nowhere and a total dump, so basically they charge a cover to "non-regulars" for an hour when there is a band and make an extra $100 for the night.....Give me a break, the only people they're making money off if is the visitors, not their regulars who drink MGD and HighLife.

Long story short, the manager did return my cover and got me a free drink, but it is really a shady redneck type of place which seems to only cater to regulars, which is their choice, I guess. I will never go there again, especially not when it seems like the doorguy just charges the cover to whoever he thinks he can get it from.

And if the manager reads this, a cover charge is only useful when you have something to offer and charge everybody. I used to run the door at a place with a radio-station remote once a week and I took in over a grand at the door in cover charges every week, but we charged everybody that came through the door, and if that meant pissing some of the regulars we more than made up for it. Bottomline, I don't mind paying a cover charge, but if it isn't a cover charge for everyone, and you're not really busy, all you're really doing is pissing off the people who do come in and pay the cover charge, who will bad mouth you a lot more, and spread the word about your establishment than your "regulars".
