Purrfect Pals Arlington

My husband and I went to Purrfect Pals a couple times to make donations. We got to meet Kathy Centala who showed us her bedroom where she keeps special needs cats and she was happy to answers all of our questions. A girl who works there showed us the entire shelter which took about 2 hours. We saw the special rooms they have for FIV, Leukemia, Feral Cats, Chronic, and senior cats. The cats are friendly there; one of my favorites was named Handsome. He has a FIV but he is the sweetest cat I have ever met. The people there are doing the best job they can and truly care. They are putting forth a huge effort to save as many cats as they can.

We Found Our Purrfect Pal- you will too!

After wanting a cat for sometime I knew when it was time I would get a rescue. My good friend had been annually having mini fundraisers for a no-kill shelter Purrfect Pals for years so I was leaning towards getting an animal from them.

One day when I was shopping,my daughter went in to a pet store which housed some of Purrfect Pals cats for adoption. She said she just wanted to look at the animals at the store. Within five minutes she calls me and asks "Mom can we get a cat? You gotta see this cat!" Reluctantly I went to see the cat and immediately fell in love. We adopted him on the spot and now, Theodore, our Purrfect Pal, is part of our family.

With adoption Purrfect Pals provides you with many of the essentials you need for your cat - such as important vaccinations, a health history of what is known about the animal, spay or neutering of the animal and microchiping. They take exceptional care of the animals they rescue and ask you detailed questions in the adoption process.

Theodore is a wonderful addition to our family. We are so grateful to have found Purrfect Pals to help connect us. I highly recommend getting a rescued cat from Purrfect Pals or getting involved with them to help more cats in need.

Purrfect Pals is a good, charitable non-profit organization that is being slandered all over the internet by zhong/Denny C who has a personal vendetta against Purrfect Pals. Here is the truth:Denny C adopted a cat from Purrfect Pals and signed an adoption contract. The contract in which he signed states that he is holding Purrfect Pals harmless from future undiagnosed illnesses, and that if the kitty doesn't work out, then he will return the cat to Purrfect Pals.Denny contacted Purrfect Pals about the cats diarreha, to which Purrfects Pals offered multiple times to have the kitty treated for free by their on-staff veterinarians. Denny C refused to have the cat treated. He instead abandoned the poor cat at the Seattle Humane shelter, and didn't even notify Purrfect Pals of the abandonment. Denny C has since slandered Purrfect Pals, this good organization all over the internet, it's very sad. By the way, the cat was very healthy, and was soon after adopted without problem.

I adopted my kitty from Purrfect Pals about six months ago now, and they are truly a wonderful organization. All the kitties that I saw there were in good health and friendly, and the staff and volunteers were very compassionate and they truly loved and cared for the cats and their well-being. The adoption process was rigorous, which is good, they really wanted to make sure that the kitty and I was a good fit for each other. I was impressed that a week after the adoption, I got a call from Purrfect Pals inquiring on how it was going. I would highly recommend Purrfect Pals to anyone looking to add a new feline to your family!

Much as I admire the overall goals of Purrfect Pals, a private non-profit, I must state that there are in all likelihood much better animal shelters in the Seattle area. For one thing, the cats shelved at various stores are housed in cages and fed and cared for by said VOLUNTEERS, not full-time paid staff. The scheduled hours for visiting is confusing, and they are not always staffed! My experience adopting a cat here was a disaster. I was told that a volunteer would be there at 3:30. No one showed up until two hours later. Vicki, who actually did the adoption, did not understand how to read the organization's own vaccine documentation. She gave me false assurances he was up-to-date on his vaccines. And she made no effort whatsoever to explain the mounds of paperwork I was signing. "Just sign here, there, and there."As a result, I adopted a cat who was due shortly to have booster vaccines because she stated and reassured me that no other vaccines would be needed for another year.(When I confronted her with this days later, she refused to offer a simple apology). The cat had diarrhea, a runny nose, sneezing not long after arrival at my home. And he refused to eat and, by the second day, to drink water. And has vomited several times. What is important to note is that cats abandoned by their owners to Purrfect Pals basically get checked by vets to determine whether or not they are neutered and for FeLV. And my guess is that THAT'S IT. The documentation gave no indication whether a general physical examination (eyes, nose, heart, fur, etc.) had ever been done.
